Chapter Five | The Actions We've Taken
Eva was left unconscious yet again, resting alone without anyone to give her the warmth of love that comforted her, deserted and facing death right in the face unarmed; anything she could do was out of her reach; there was nothing she could do.
~
Jolteon looked to the stars, standing strong and tall as he faced the endless void of darkness surrounding him. He willed himself to have strength, or rather, to show strength, but in reality, he felt like a failure. He hadn't served his family correctly or protected them, only left them scattered and eventually allowed them to rip apart so the family bond would be no longer. Now, there was no hope left for the nine. They were probably all dead, anyway. And worst of all, it was all his fault.
~
Flareon's eyes were hollow and emotionless, a representation on how he felt. Lifeless and regretful, contrition and useless. A million other emotions whirled inside him like a storm, but they had already taken him over. He let his family down in their darkest hours. And now, there was nothing left to do to try and salvage the pieces of what was left.
~
Glaceon and Umbreon stood on the peaks of two different cliffs, closeby to each other but not daring to meet one another, not even by the eyes. Now, they believed everything about them was contradictory and different; they weren't meant to be. They each had different prominent feelings. But the one thing they had in common was an longing eternal sadness that meant, they knew, that because of their actions, the family might never come together again.
~
Espeon struggled to remain conscious, but when she had finally pulled through for just enough time, she was able to remember all the good moments between her and her family, and then, when they all ended, why the world had to be so cruel to end them, why life hadn't given her the strength to protect them.
~Sylveon's eyes wouldn't stop releasing the tears that portrayed exactly how she felt; the droplets that brought back the memories of everything that had torn them apart; the events that had made the family of nine tear apart into nine separate Pokemon. Her heart was shattered into pieces, and she was sore all over. Why had she been so blind, why had she thought this world full of devils wouldn't be so fiendish as to take everything from her? Yet more importantly... why hadn't she tried harder to strengthen the family bond?
~
Leafeon looked down at the ground, refusing to stand tall. She shouldn't act like none of this wasn't her fault. She shouldn't try to shake it all away. Instead she wanted to drown everything away and live in shame, because that's what she deserved as punishment. She suddenly remembered what Eva had wanted. The little girl asked for nothing more but to be together, didn't she? So why didn't the family listen and keep the promise?
~
Vaporeon quietly walked down the forest, stretching one shaky paw in front of the other as tears slid down his face. He was so evil. He never deserved such a loving family! He had jumped to conclusions and hid from everything when he could've helped and brought bonds back together, and now, he stood alone in a vacant, burned forest. Everything was... gone.
~
Days flew by until Eva awakened. When she did, without hesitation, she knew where she must go. She searched day and night, even while she was still weak, for her family, but never did she find one member. Weeks passed until she began to lose determination and hope. But everything must die, and when her resolve finally went away, she banished herself to the peak of Mt. Silver. This was where she would spend her days. There was nothing left to do but remember solemnly everything she had lost, and sadly, dismiss her life ahead to the cycle that would eventually end all.
