Yoongi comes to the conclusion that every day is like the other. Nothing exciting ever goes on in his life so he really doesn't have anything to look forward to. He doesn't go to college parties because really, who has time for that anymore?

Studying is all he does at this point. Finals are just around the corner and he couldn't afford to fail. Literally. He barely has enough money to get through the month. His parents refused to give him any kind of financial aid until he passed law school to become some kind of government worker. He thought of it as bullshit but really, what could he do at this point?

Yoongi feels a small tightening in his chest when he hears two kids, way younger than himself, talking about their dreams for when they grew older. Yeah, Yoongi had a dream once but did that really matter anymore?

Of course it didn't. His dream didn't matter anymore. His only focus was to get a job as a government official so his parents would be happy with him for once.

He's thought about running away but he realized that he had no where to go. No one to turn to. All of his friends have gone off to do their own things and Yoongi was stuck by himself. Sometimes he didn't mind being alone but other times, when he thinks about his High School days, he misses having a group of friends to joke around with.

But Yoongi knows, better than anyone else, that the past will forever be in the past. All he can focus on now is the future.

Yoongi remembered when he was a younger child, no younger than age ten, and how he would always look up to the famous celebrities on television. Yoongi decided one day while watching them on television that he wanted to get into the music industry when he grew up.

Ever since that day, Yoongi would write lyrics in his notebook. They were quite childish (and Yoongi still cringes to this day when he rereads them) and simple but not much was to be expected from a kid his age. His mother would get suspicious of why he always needed new notebooks and he would reply with a simple, "I use a lot of paper in school." She would believe him and buy him more notebooks.

She stopped buying him notebooks when she found out the real reason he had been going through so many notebooks.

Yoongi heaved a sigh as he remembered the past before everything had changed. Before he, himself, had changed into what he is now. He knew change was unavoidable but at the same time, he wished time would stop and rewind back to his childhood days when he knew how to have fun.

Right now, he felt like he was that one old grumpy man who would yell, "Get off of my lawn!" at pesky children. He wasn't that old but hell, he might as well be.

He couldn't have fun anymore, he was an adult. He needed to focus on getting a sturdy job and not fucking his life up by becoming a bum on the street with no money to support himself at all.

Yoongi always wondered if a big house and a big car would make him happy as his parents had claimed they would. He liked to think that they wouldn't make him happy in the slightest but he had no voice over his parents, even if he was an adult.

To this day, he still looks up to the celebrities on television. Especially the ones who rapped. Yoongi always enjoyed spending whatever free time he had watching music videos from various rappers like Jay Park or Dok2. He was envious that they could do what they wanted with their lives.

Yoongi didn't even have the time to write his own lyrics anymore.

Even if he hated to admit it, he was sad. He didn't show his emotions very well so know one could really predict how Yoongi was ever feeling. Even if no one else noticed, he always noticed. How could he not notice? The feeling of emptiness never left him. Sometimes, he wants to go against his parents wishes and fight for his dream. But he didn't. He never has and never will.

Yoongi lightly placed his head on his desk. He felt the feeling of pathetic-ness swallow him whole because really, why was he giving in to his parents wishes? Why wasn't he fighting for his own dream?

Because he was a chicken.

And Yoongi knew perfectly that he was a goddamn chicken. He was afraid of being disowned by his parents, being kicked out of his one bedroom apartment, he was afraid of being alone.

He knew he had no more dreams to fight for. The moment his parents pushed being a government worker down onto his shoulders, his dreams shattered into a million pieces, never to be restored. Needless to say, Yoongi didn't sleep at all that night.

Ever since his parents forced their dream upon him, he has felt like a marionette. It was like he had no control over his life anymore. None of the decisions made in his life were his own. They were his parents.

He had lost control of his own life long ago. It used to bother him to the point where he couldn't sleep at night but now, he wasn't bothered anymore. He'd gotten used to his current life and decided to just be happy with it.

Some people had it worse, Yoongi always liked to think.

Yoongi took a quick glance in his wallet to make sure he had some cash on him before making his way to the small coffee shop nearby. He had to buy coffee to make sure he didn't fall asleep while studying for his major exam since that exam determined almost everything.

It wasn't that cold out since it was spring so Yoongi wore casual clothing since he was just stopping at the coffee shop to get coffee. He never really dressed to impress.

Since Yoongi tends to look at his phone while walking, he ended up bumping into some kid he didn't know (or maybe the kid bumped into him, he didn't really know at this point). He looked up at the brown-haired boy who had a nice eyesmile and a pretty cute face (but Yoongi wouldn't admit that out loud).

The kid apologizes for bumping into him and all Yoongi can say is, "It's fine." And Yoongi does notice that the kid looked like he wanted to say something else to him but a loud, "Jimin hurry up, we're going to be late for dance practice!" makes the younger male quickly leave without saying another word.

Yoongi watches as the kid, named Jimin apparently, hurriedly leave to go to dance practice. Yoongi rolls his eyes a bit before mumbling, "damn kids these days," to himself and proceeded to walk into the coffee shop so he could buy his coffee.

While walking back home with his coffee in hand, he thought about the kid that bumped into him. He looked happy being able to do what he wanted. Yoongi was slightly jealous of him but he didn't press on it too much because he knew he would never see the kid again anyways.
