Chapter 4: Expedition

(1 month time skip)
Levi's P.O.V
"Come on Levi, you have to wake up now. We have to get ready for the expedition! C'mon!" (Y/n) said, pulling me off of the bed. "Let me sleep, brat," I mumble as I get off of the hard floor. "Levi. Now. I will personally eat you," she said, putting her hands on her hips. "No you wouldn't. I know you wouldn't," I said. She rolled her eyes, "whatever. Get dressed and meet me at the gate. Brat," she said walking out.
I assume she's become quite fond of me, seeing she isn't bothered by anything I say. To be honest, I don't want her going on the expedition. I can't risk her getting hurt, or even dying. Should I tell her she can't go? No, she needs to go. She hasn't used her transformation in years and I'm sure it's bugging her that she finally gets to. Hopefully she'll be ok.

After finishing with the last of my straps, I head out to the gate where I was told to meet up with (y/n) and the others, who had my gear and horse. "Where have you been, slowpoke?" She smiled as I walked up to her. Rolling my eyes with a 'tch' I see the rest of the expedition arriving at the gate. "Ah, Levi. You finally woke up, I see?" Erwin asked as the gates raised. I think he's still upset with me taking (y/n) into the walls but hell if I care.
I snatch my horse's reigns from him and jump on. (Y/n) rode with me, since she didn't have a horse. At least she was close to me.
"Levi, I'm scared..." She said lightly, putting her arms around me to hold on. "It'll be OK. Just stay near me, all right?" I soothed her, making sure no one around us heard.
She nodded and we started moving forward into Titan Territory. "Don't transform unless I tell you to, or you absolutely need to," I said, facing straight ahead, trying to ignore the fact that she was still cuddled up in my back. She nodded again meaning she understood. 'You stupid brat, you're tearing down my walls... Trying to keep from kissing and hugging you every day is killing me. God damnit what do I do about these things? I can't go on anymore feeling like this'
I was shaken out of my thoughts as a flare shot up into the sky. Red. "A Titan has been spotted from the west. Keep your eyes open!" Erwin commanded the rest of the group. "I don't want to die..." (Y/n) said, her body trembling. "It's ok, just stay with me. I want to be able to walk through those gates with you one day, got it brat?" I said. I moved an arm to cover hers around me. At that moment, someone directly behind me shot a flare gun. The sudden noise caused my horse to rear up, knocking both me and (y/n) off. I look to the sky and see that it was a-

Black flare.....

"Levi, I'm going to die today, I know I am. But please, if I die promise me you'll protect everyone else and yourself. I'm just a monster cast upon this Earth to be beaten and die. But you and the others aren't, so please protect them," (y/n) said, tears streaming down her face. "(Y/n)," I say, grabbing her shoulders and making her look at me, "transform. Now. You can take them. I'll help. But please, live. We'll walk through those gates someday," I said.
She nodded. She stood up, but got back down onto her knees, face to face with me, "I promise," she whispered. She grabbed the collar of my shirt, our lips colliding. She pulled away and let go of my shirt. She jogged a little bit away and stopped, pulling her hand to her mouth, drawing blood. There was an explosion and smoke, but soon cleared, leaving a 15 meter tall, (h/c) hair, and piercing (e/c) eyes. She looked like Eren, but the set of teeth in the back were as sharp as knives. She looked at me, and a glow in the titan's eyes told me she was smiling.

As the abnormal Titan sighted came into view, all hell broke loose between the titan and the shifter that breached the walls of my life.
