The grey clouds filled the evening sky, pouring onto the earth endless amounts of rain. Her eyes, glazed over, mused at the final state of the world. To this tall, slender woman who emanated an azure aura, this was the shortest chapter to the Prophecy. It was drawing to a close, and it was her duty to see to its completion.
She sat quietly in a small, dusty room with beige walls and a marble floor. If she possessed the ability to want to see more, she would have. But she was created to be but an amalgam of powers, held together by an artificial will implanted within her. Her only purpose was to end lives, yet all she did was create more. There were no emotions undermining her capabilities; that would be too human. There was much to this world she missed, and it ceased to exist shrouded in the black mist that was war.
Creaking filled the room as its door was opened slowly.
"We are ready for the ceremony to begin," she heard a deep voice mutter. The statement was registered, but not remembered. To her, there was no point in remembering the final trivial matters of an imperfect world.
Through winding hallways of puce and gold she followed her escort, until the Congregation surrounded her. This room, like, the hallways of the castle, had a regal feel. The walls were golden, the floor pure white marble, and accents of red were displayed in ornate, grotesque patterns documenting famous moments in history. In the center of the room was an immense round carpet that she was directed to, and the ritual began without hesitation.
Her movements were smooth and intricate, the position and pose of her body shifting with ease. The performance was flawless, as indicated by an orb's sudden appearance between the woman's hands. Strong gusts filled the large room, twisting uncontrollably, as the object began to glow.
In the split second before the end, the woman screamed. A long blade had been thrust vigorously through her midsection.
An audience watched themselves perish in the light of reformation.
