Elphaba's POV

"Elphie loves Fiyero! Elphie loves Fiyero!" My perky blonde roommate, Galinda, exclaimed as she skipped around our room after she found out that I was going on my first date tonight with Fiyero Tiggular, the Vinkun Prince who's reputation was so 'scandalacious'.

"Shhh," I said, trying to quiet my roommate.

"But you do love him! I know you do!"

"Galinda, please calm down."

"See," she pointed at me, "you're not denying it! Now, you only have half an hour to get you ready and-" she gasped. "We only have half an hour to get you ready for Fiyero! We need to start now!"

"We?"

"Yes, we. Now, sit down."

I sighed as I sat down on my bed, "Alright, fine, but no makeup!"

"Just a little bit? Please?" She begged

"No."

"PlEaSe?!"

"Fine, just a little bit."

She squealed then went into the closet and took out a beautiful silver colored dress. "Here," she said, handing me the dress, "go put this on while I get the makeup ready."

After putting my dress on, Galinda sat me down on my bed so she could do my makeup and I slightly flinched as she started putting on my makeup, starting with the eyeshadow.

Knock, knock. The knock at the door made my stomach twist up in knots. Fiyero was here.

"I'll get it!" Galinda exclaimed as she jumped up to open the door.

"Galinda don't-"

She answered the door to Fiyero standing on the other side and my heart started to pound. "She's not ready yet!" She shouted as she slammed the door in front of Fiyero.

"Galinda!" I shouted. "That was rude!"

"Well, you're not ready yet," she answered tugging at my hair to put it up.

"You don't have to be rude about it," I replied. "And ow!" I squirmed.

"Stop moving, Elphie, you're messing up your hair!"

"Ugh!" I groaned as I tried to stay still.

"There," she said in what seemed like hours later but was actually only a few minutes, "you're done." She stepped back, admiring her work then handing me a hand mirror.

I took the mirror and looked at my reflection. My hair was up in a messy bun with a few strands hanging by my face and my makeup was light but kind of noticeable. Before I could say anything, she took away the mirror and set it down. "Now stay there!" She demanded then went to go open the door again.

"Fiyero, close your eyes," she instructed.

"Why do I-"

"Just close them!" She interrupted.

I'm guessing Fiyero closed his eyes because Galinda tiptoed towards me and took me to him. My stomach dropped when I saw him. He was dressed up so nicely, his hair nicely done as well, and he was holding something behind his back.

"Now open your eyes," Galinda smiled.

Fiyero opened his eyes and opened his mouth to speak. I put my hand up before he could do so. "I know," I said, "I look ridiculous."

"No, you don't," he smiled, taking my hand. "I was going to say you look beautiful."

I felt my cheeks heat up as I blushed. No guy has ever called me 'beautiful' before. "Oh," he began, removing his hand from behind his back and held out a bouquet of poppies in front of me, "these are for you."

I felt my cheeks burn up even more as I took the beautiful flowers from Fiyero. "Thanks," I said shyly.

"Awe," Galinda smiled, "how thoughtful, Fiyero." She pushed me out the door, "Now go have fun, you two." Her smile disappeared for a moment, "And, Fiyero, don't you dare hurt her or you will be sorry." Then her smile reappeared, "Anyway, bye." She immediately closed the door.

"Looks like someone wanted me out of the room quickly," I chuckled.

He also chuckled, "I wouldn't be surprised if she has her own date tonight."

"Knowing her, she probably does."

"Well, so do we. Together," he smiled. "Now, come on, I'm going to take you somewhere special."

"Where?"

"It's a surprise."

"I don't like surprises."

"Yes, I've heard. You'll enjoy this surprise, though, trust me." He took my hand again and lead me outside of the girls' dormitory.
