Him

Tyler Sterling was here. This must be a dream. I pinch myself just to be sure and his melodic rich laughter filled the air. His eyes were the most beautiful shade of brown and his skin was flawless.

"Yes this is real baby," his voice sent chills down my spine and I squirmed. What was he doing here?

"Why are you here?" My voice wavered but I held my ground, I couldn't let him know that I was still effected by him.

"I heard that there was a hot new chick so I decided to check you out," he smirked. Of course. He doesn't remember me. What was I thinking. All of a sudden his smirk transformed into that adorable smile I love, "I know it's you Laura, how could I forget those eyes baby."

I closed my eyes and when I reopened them he was closer, close enough that if I took a step closer we could kiss. How could I forget our chemistry?

"I go by Viva now so.." His smile dropped.

"Oh baby, what happened to you?" My eyes started watering, he noticed and pulled me into a bone crushing hug, "It's okay baby, I'm here now. You're safe. I'm sorry I left but I'm here now, just for you. I still love you and I don't care if you don't feel the same way."

I looked up at him and wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling his head down we kissed. All of a sudden my emotions overflowed, the feeling of having him with me again. I started crying during our kiss and he pulled away, using his thumbs to wipe away the tears.

"Laura Step or Viva James, whichever you prefer-"

"Baby, I prefer baby," I said.

"Okay," he smiled, "Baby will you do the honour and be my girl again?"

Just as I started to say yes somebody coughed, we both turned around and standing there was Nathan.

"Well well well, look who we have. Come to steal your girl back? Sorry to burst your bubble but she wants me, not you. After you left everyone bullied her and I rescued her. She's mine so back off. I bet you she was going to say no anyway," Nathan commented while smirking. It made me furious.

"Bullshit! I had to save myself, you just sat there kissing Brianna like always. The only time you helped me was when she attacked me. Then you went straight back to her. Yeah of course I had feelings for you but after coming back I don't, you are pathetic. You were my rebound, I still love Tyler and he will make me happy so yes, I will be your girl again." Nathan looked torn and hurt but I didn't care, I grabbed Tyler's hand and walked back into the school.

So I guess you want to know who the hell Tyler is so I'll start at the beginning.

Tyler Sterling was my first ever love. He was the golden boy but the bad boy at the same time which was great. All the girls loved him but I wasn't interested, at the time I only cared about my work and study. If my best friend Brianna hadn't convinced me to go to that party we probably would have never met. Yes I know, Brianna and I used to be best friends and then the night of the party changed everything.

--- FLASHBACK---

"Come on Laura, you need to come to this party!!" This was about the tenth time she had said this all afternoon. There was some party at Tyler Sterling's house and she wanted to go but I didn't. Eventually I caved in and went. She made me wear a short tight dress to 'accentuate' my curves, I wore it and felt super pretty. My hair was curled and I had natural make up on. I put on black heels and we left.

When we arrived at the party it was in full swing, Brianna wanted to walk around so we did and then some how we got separated. I made my way upstairs and went into a random room when I saw Natalie, Tyler's ex and queen bee. Nobody knows why they broke up but apparently it had something to do with Brianna and I was her best friend so I couldn't go near her just in case. I looked around the room and saw it led to a balcony. I walked out and inhaled the fresh air, somebody chuckled and I quickly straightened, turning around. I came face to face with the man himself, Tyler Sterling.

"Um, hi," I started, "I was just getting some fresh air, the party is crazy. Like in a good way but a bit different to what I'm used to." He was just staring at me with a small smile on his face and I was getting more uncomfortable by the minute.

"You want to know the reason why Natalie and I broke up?" Well that was random, I nodded anyway, unsure of where this was going.

"She was cheating on me. With my best friend. Every Tuesday night." I felt sorry for him, nobody deserves to go through that.

"I was cheating on her anyway," What the hell?! "Not physically though, just emotionally. I like someone else and she has no clue. She's different from the other girls and it's refreshing." Maybe he's talking about Brianna. I hoped it was Brianna.

"Want to know who she is?" I shrugged, "Her name is Laura Step."

Say what now? This isn't good, he kept getting closer and closer.

"Why would you like me? I am a nobody, nobody talks to me besides Brianna. You should like somebody like her because she is gorgeous."

He shook his head.

"You want to know why?" I nodded, "You are different. You don't swoon over me unlike the other girls, you're beautiful and intelligent and you don't depend on guys. You are quiet and I know you hate it here tonight and that your friend probably convinced you to come which I am very thankful. I really like you and I want you to give me a chance, a chance to treat you the way you should be treated. You deserve to be loved and I can do that for you. So will you give me a chance?"

He looked so vulnerable and raw, raw with emotion. I slowly nodded and he let out a sigh of relief, picking me up and spinning me around.

"So will you be my girl?"

"Yes"

---END OF FLASHBACK---

That's how it started. Over time we got closer and closer and then he told me one night when we were cuddling on the couch that he loved me. I said it back and I meant it. When everyone found out we were dating they hated me. Everyone wanted him to get back together with Natalie but he didn't and Brianna stopped talking to me and shunned me at school. She started hanging out with Natalie and that's how she became a total bitch.

I started getting bullied when Nathan moved to our school. He was the bad boy and would always tease me so everyone did and I got hate mail and messages everyday but Tyler helped me through it. I got depressed and mum said I should move schools but I stayed so I could be with Tyler but then after two years of dating he left. He left the country with his dad for some unknown reason. I got a few texts from him but then one day, right before I left,  I got a message from him saying, 'We're done, don't text me again' I got even more depressed and that's when I moved to Australia with mum. The place where dad died.

I never did find out why Tyler left but I'm determined to.
