Sora was wearing an outfit that she really liked.
She feels nervous.
But she doesn't feel like she is the same person anymore.
"they won't reconize me"
"maybe I can just change my name and start off a clean slate?"
"no. I won't hide anymore"
The air was crisp as Sora stood at the edge of the school's front gate, the place where it all began. She felt the cool breeze whip through her hair, tousling it in a way that made her feel... free. Four months had passed, four months of living in isolation, and yet, in this moment, she felt more like herself than she ever had.
Sora had changed. Not just on the outside—though the transformation was remarkable—but on the inside, too. Her skin glowed with the kind of vitality that only came from taking care of herself—mind, body, and soul. But her biggest change wasn't physical. It was the confidence she carried now, something that had been absent all those years ago, buried beneath the cruelty of bullies and a secret she hadn't even known how to protect.
Her best friend, Yana... The memory of the way she had abandoned her still stung, but it was no longer the all-consuming pain it had once been. Sora had come to terms with it. The whole school had. The whispers, the judgment—it was still there, lingering in the corners of the halls. But Sora wasn't afraid anymore.
"I can do this"
She took a deep breath, walking toward the school gate. Her sneakers crunched on the gravel as she made her way through the crowd of students, none of them recognizing her. It was strange, and a little unsettling. They looked at her like she was a stranger—just another new face. Her past life felt so far away, like it had happened to someone else. The transformation was that complete. But she wasn't a stranger.
She stopped in the middle of the walkway and stood tall, letting the buzz of the school day continue without her. Everyone was chatting, heading to their classrooms, and most didn't even glance her way. The few that did? They didn't seem to recognize the girl who had once been the target of their cruelty.
She walked into that fimiliar classroom....
Mia, Rose, Yana, and Mi-Jin......
they were all there, chatting happily.
the class, sensing a new face grew quiet.
Yana looked at Sora like she saw somthing familiar, but shrugged it away.
Mi-Jin: "Hiii! are you new here? Your so pretty!!"
Mi-Jin's voice was irritating.
It sounded so.....so Fake.
Like she was trying to sound popular, cool, and bubbly.
She sounded disgusting.
or maybe I'm just biased.
Somthing in me wanted to say "yes", but the other part begs to stop hiding.
Sora: "It's me... Sora."
The noise around her halted. She saw a few heads turn, some with confusion, others with recognition, followed by a chorus of shocked whispers. "Sora? No way. That's her?!"
A wave of realization rippled through the students. Some of them stepped back, stunned by the girl who now stood confidently, her posture powerful, her eyes unapologetically sharp. The Sora they remembered was a shadow of this girl—insicure, quiet, always hiding from the harsh words that had become her reality.
And then there were the girls from Yana's old friend group. They hadn't changed. They were still standing in their little group, But when their eyes landed on Sora, something faltered.
Sora could feel their eyes drilling into her like daggers.
"Well, well, well... Look who decided to crawl back," one of them sneered.
Sora didn't flinch. Instead, she took a step forward, her chin lifted high. "I didn't crawl back, I walked back. I have legs you know."
The other girls giggled, but their laughter was strained. the girl raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Oh, so you think you're better now? Because you lost some weight and put on a little makeup? That's cute, Sora. Really cute."
Sara sighed internally, "You still don't get it, do you?"
Mia stepped forward and narrowed her eyes. "Still bitter? You're really going to pretend like we didn't all know what you did? Like you didn't ruin everything for Yana?"
Sora froze, a flash of pain creeping into her chest. Yana, who had been so quiet, so withdrawn after the secret had come to light. Yana's father, the criminal, the man who had been imprisoned for his actions, had been the source of her shame. The moment the truth had come out, the entire school had turned on her. They blamed Yana for something that wasn't even her fault. And Sora? Sora had been the one blamed for exposing the secret.
"I didn't ruin anything," Sora said, her voice harder now. "I wasnt the one who sent the message. And you can't blame me for the fact that Yana's dad is a criminal. She didn't choose that."
Mia's smirk faltered, but her group didn't back, one of them sneered. "What about Yana? She's still dealing with that mess. You really think she's going to forgive you for this?"
Sora's chest tightened, but she held her ground. " I didn't do anything wrong. If she's mad at me, that's her choice. But I'm not going to sit here and let you hurt me, that's not fair for myself."
Rose stands up next to mia, her expression darkened. "You don't get it, do you? We were her friends. We stood by her. And you? You just... betrayed her. Now you think you can waltz in here like nothing happened?"
"I didn't betray her," Sora said, her voice unwavering. "I NEVER SENT THAT MESSAGE ."
"And you—" She pointed to Rose, "You're the one who made everything worse by piling on the lies and the rumors."
The girls exchanged nervous glances, unsure of how to respond the acuusation. But Mia wasn't done. "You know, if you think you're so much better now, you're wrong. Yana will never forgive you for what you did."
Sora didn't respond to that. She didn't need to. Instead, she took one final look at them, then turned and walked away, head held high, leaving behind the girls who had once been her tormentors.
Sora had grown stronger.
And she would not be ashamed.
the door swung open
"I'M HERE!"
