The wandering Magi had done it once again. He had single handedly managed to get himself lost in what seemed to be a never-ending forest. The wise Magi had been traveling throughout the land of [Kingdom Name] to view the sights the empire held. The tall male was on his way his way to the capitol when he entered the woods. By then he had noticed something rather odd was going on.
Usually, the rukh would help him in a time like this; getting lost in an unknown area. But as of now they stayed silent. His confusion only grew when they began acting as if they were.... Being controlled by someone else. He had taken one more look around the forest, only to notice something very... Strange.
Not only the trees, but the entire forest itself was bursting with magoi. The only reason he couldn't get any farther into the forest was because this was someone's doing. The whole forest was artificially created, the rukh including.
" Just.. Just who has this much magoi at their disposal to create all of this? And just why would they need to do all of this?!" He asked more to himself, putting a hand to his chin in deep thought. The crunching of grass and twigs however had snapped him out of his trance. The blonde haired magi had looked over to where the sound came from only to find--
" I can't really tell you why I did all of this but," A quiet feminine voice cut through the thick woods, stopping next to a large twisted tree not far from him. " I can ensure you that everyone who wanders in here can forget about getting out."
The long black hood she wore covered her hair, but allowed the bangs to stick out. The long sleeved ankle length dress she wore hadn't covered the shoes entirely, showing off black shoes in the process. She had let off an eerie presence, one much like the forest.
" Oh? How so, miss?" Yunan asked the young woman in confusion. Was there really no way out? The girl in response shook her head, already knowing what he was thinking.
" It doesn't matter which direction you wander off to or fly-- it'll all be pointless in the end. For every step you take, the forest will stretch longer than before." The (e/c) girl in the hooded cloak explained, the blank face she wore never letting up.
" But... Why are you doing this? Why would you trap everyone who entered?" He asked again. But this time, he could see the mix of sadness and anger rise within those (e/c) gems.
" They didn't have a reason to be here, and neither do you." She responded, looking away from his piercing gaze. The emotions within her ran wild trying to break loose, and he knew it.
" Is that the only reason? Or is there something else to it?" Yunan pressed further, taking a step closer to the young woman who backed away slightly.
"...... T-They can't hurt me if they can't reach me... That's why this forest exists." She finally choked out, after a long period of silence. Yunan raised a brow, still not following what she was getting at.
" Who's 'they'?" He
"...the... The outside world! The only thing they're good for is destroying !" The (h/c) had cried out, her eyes filling to the brim with tears that she wouldn't let fall. She had wrapped her arms around herself.
" The only thing they want to do is destroy! I WON'T LET THEM! THEY CAN TRY AND DESTROY THIS FOREST BUT I WON'T LET THEM!" She began to shout, tears beginning to fall at a rapid pace.
The wandering magi had stared at her awe struck, not knowing what to do or say at this point.
" That's.... That's not true!" He interjected, catching her off guard. The girl's tears were still streaming down, but she had taken a break from her shout to recognize what the man had said to her.
" I don't know how long you've been here in the forest or what caused you to think like this but.." He started, getting her further attention.
" Not all of the world is like that. Not everyone in the world hurts and destroys things. And I could show you better than explain it!" Yunan couldn't help but let a small smile slip out as he finished his somewhat small speech.
" But I can't show you anything of the world if we're stuck in the forest so..." Yunan trailed off, making a gesture with a hand in hopes the (H/C) girl caught on.
" Why...? Why are you doing this for a complete stranger? Why would I leave the guaranteed safety of the forest?? Why should I even trust you?!" You countered, pointing a finger to the man who wanted to do nothing more than help you.
"... I won't give you a reason to trust me since I don't have any to offer. But the only thing I'm trying to reassure is that I have no intent on harming you." The light blonde slowly explained, offering a hand towards you, a calm expression on his beautiful features. " So, please give it a chance."
It took you only a few minutes to see his words were genuine, nothing hiding behind them. He was actually serious about not harming you. But the only thing you did was accuse him of ill will and trap him in the forest.
Just like everyone else you encountered in the woods.
A switch had clicked through (Name)'s head, her common sense starting to take over.
Without another word, the woods had begin to clear up, just enough to see the surrounding towns not very far. The wandering magi had looked towards the girl only to notice she was closer to him than before.
" Okay. I'll put my faith into you and hope that what you said was true."
A/N: Not proud of this one either =4=
Of all the King vessels, who would you choose to be your candidate?
