Aspen sat on the couch, nervously awaiting Owen to tell her what on earth was so important to where she couldn't take a nice, long shower, and was forced to take a very quick shower.. Aspen really preferred to soak in the water, the nice... water.. flowing over tense muscles... Aspen started to purr thinking about it.
So not cool, mister.
Owen opened the door, loudly making the small child cry.
"Great, job, Owen she just fell asleep! God!" Aspen cried out, and lifted the baby out of the crib, shooshing it.
"The Indominus.. the hybrid, it hatched, a few days ago. They just now told me." Owen said, walking over.
"What are you waiting for, let's go, Mister Turtle!"
"I am a velociraptor, not a turtle."
"Either way, get your little reptilian tail in the car." She sighed, sitting down and strapping the child in.
"How about that name?"
"Still none yet, but I'm thinking about Jewel."
"No."
"Why not!"
"Because, we want her to be a badass not a girly-girl."
"Owen! We said we wouldn't curse anymore!"
"Whoops."
Aspen was quiet, for a moment.
"Jewel isn't always a girly-girl name." She murmured.
"What did you say?" Owen asked, eyeing her.
"Nothing..." Aspen chuckled.
Owen hopped out of the car as they arrived, and Aspen grabbed the small child.
"Is she bigger than you remember a few minutes ago, or is that just me?" Owen asked.
"I think, she is a bit.. larger..." Aspen said, awkwardly.
Lowery glanced at Mary, realizing she was glancing at Aspen, glancing at a small child, and Owen was glaring at a lit room.
"It's in there, then?"
"Your baby is cute." Mary blurted out. Aspen glared at her.
"Uh-huh. Yes, it is... on ocassion, slightly cute." She said, awkwardly.
Owen opened the door, and tilted his head.
"When did this creature, um... hatch? again?" Owen asked.
"Oh, about... well, approxamately four to five days ago."
"Same time as her." Owen muttered to Aspen, glancing at the small child.
"This could be dangerous." Owen said.
"indeed. Especially if they do, in fact have the exact same growth rate." Aspen agreed.
"potential problems." He finalized,
"Yes, yes." Aspen moved to a louder tone, and glanced over at the small male.
"Why is it male?"
"We were attempting to make a female, we weren't sure which genome would work, we were going to put the male down, but the female didn't survive, it didn't hatch, likely the machines acted up, because we barely caught the male freezing to death in time to switch it's incubator." The male glanced over at the new-comers, it's eyes a like a hazel, with an orange inner circle, and a grey outer one, it seemed docile at the moment.
"And.. it's not tried to kill anyone yet, has it?" Aspen asked.
"No, and it shouldn't in the future. We haven't named him yet." Mary said, glancing down at the male.
"Well, we've got to.. go.." Owen said, nudging Aspen, gently.
"Woah, why?" Aspen whispered.
"Our child needs a name, and I've got one." Owen said.
Aspen sat down in the car, and tilted her head.
"Okay, what's the name?" Aspen asked.
"Well, it starts with an a.."
"Owen! Just tell me!"
"Ace."
"What?"
"Ace. We should name her Ace."
"Ace... Grady?"
"We're not married yet..."
"We should be." Aspen twirled the ring on her finger.
"Well, why don't we just get married, right now, Lowery has the little certification thing."
"Alright, you sure your parents won't fall over and die?"
"Oh, they probably will."
Aspen raised an eyebrow.
"Alrighty then."
"Lowery can you marry me and Aspen really quick?"
"Wait what!" Said the voice on the other end.
"shhh no one needs to know."
"Okay... um, lemme say Im going to the bathroom, and I'll meet you-" He glanced at Aspen and Owen "Oh, Hi guys."
"Hey lowery, can you just... do the thing."
"We are gathered here today-"
"No, just, skip to the vows"
"Oh, okay." Lowery said, awkwardly, he was clearly nervous.
"Um, say your vows."
"Oh, oh, OH okay." Aspen fumbled with her words, and glanced at Owen. "I, honestly don't remember anything before I met you, and I'm not lieing, so I cannot what-so-ever say that any of my life was bad, because throughout all of it you where there beside me."
Owen took a deep breath. "Aspen, I was, at first, skeptical about you, if you were just another experiment, or if you were just, an animal, but I was wrong, you turned out to be, the smartest, creature I'd ever met. Especially for a Turtle."
"Do you take each other to be one anothers wife and husband?" Owen raised an eyebrow. "I forgot what to say, okay!" He flinched.
"I do."
"Great, me too." Owen said, and the baby squealed.
"Not how I pictured it at all." Aspen said.
"Me neither." Owen agreed, furrowing his brow.
"what did you expect?" Owen asked.
"Less children, more fighting." Aspen shrugged.
"I expected a kiss at the end."
"There's a child in the way."
"I'll wait."
*somehow* kiss
Lowery had left, after he'd said you're now husband and wife, and I forgot all of my lines, and have.. a nice.. life?
"I'm a nervous wreck, Owen."
"Ah, but you're my nervous wreck."
"Little Ace Grady."
"Welcome to the Grady pack, you two.Prepare for chaos, for when my family finds out." Owen said, purring softly.
"I wouldn't want it any other way."
