Sooo, I'm not officially back yet! There is still a lot of time before more updates in summer 2026. But then I realized that I had left things on such a major cliffhanger the last time I had touched up on this story that I decided to reveal one chapter early on! For emotional closure.

Strangely enough, drowning felt eerily similar to being locked inside Dad's closet. Waves of water consumed Cyrus whole, crashing into his sides. Wringing around his neck. Suffocating what little air he possessed left. Everything closed in around him as his breaths cut short and his lungs burned.

Blondie's hand still snaked around his esophagus with a bruising grip, coercing him even further into the wet, salty void of the river. Her fingers were suddenly larger in size, rubbery in texture. Bubbles violently erupted from his mouth as he thrashed about. Black spots dotted his blurred vision.
The darkness threatened to return, this time for good.
While there was still light, Cyrus fought back with what he knew best. For an agonizing moment, his features twisted, tearing apart his skin. Bones cracked and tendons snapped. Fur filled out his cheeks as his wolf form conquered. His new paws launched him away with a resound splash as he slipped from Blondie's throttle.
It was still painful to transform, but not nearly as painful as being strangled. When he peaked past the water level, finally breaking into the surface with a choked whimper, he saw what Blondie really was.
Blue scales and long dark hair. Neck gills and webbed ears. Onyx black eyes with a sadistic gleam to them. The puzzle pieces clicked together as dread churned in Cyrus's gut.
