It was funny how things worked. Things had just started to get a little better. Avery had a good start in high school and my job at the local café was bringing in enough profit for gas money and groceries. Some of our relatives who felt that they needed to would send checks in the mail to try and help out. It was always nice to receive those envelopes because it showed that some people really did care about our well-being.

But of course, something just had to come along and interfere. And here I was sitting in the office of the very intriguing and confident Lucy Gerald discussing what her little 'game plan' was.

So far, we have discussed what was going to provided for me. She was going to give me a place to stay in this very building.

She would also give me a weekly salary that would increase depending on how much effort I was putting in to prepare. I was also told I would be equipped with certain clothing and tools.

What if they dressed me up as a ninja? I have no skills in that stuff at all! Wait... what if the Ninja Turtles were real and this was where they stay and I was going to be trained by them and help them fight crime!

"Chloe! Are you listening?" Lucy's sharp voice interrupted my rather childish and wild thoughts.

"Hm? I'm sorry I was just, uh, thinking..." I said not wanting to reveal my rather embarrassing thoughts.

"As I was saying," Lucy said as she raised an eyebrow at me, "each day you will have a schedule. You will also train for an hour each day to build up your strength. We have an amazing trainer here that will ensure that you become the strongest you can be."

"A trainer? Is Sam the trainer? Because he looks pretty fit if you ask me." I said lightheartedly as I turned to look back at Sam who had a small smirk on his face. I giggled lightly and turned back to Lucy.

"No. Sam here is the head of each mission. I assign him the tasks, provide him a team and help him come up with strategies to complete each task. From there, along with a small, but elite team, he goes and orders them what must be done." Lucy explained carefully.

"Woah.... so you guys are like spies or something...." I expressed with wonder and awe. I had to admit, even though they had my sister, these guys seemed pretty damn awesome.

Lucy stifled a smile and shook her head lightly.

"I suppose we are similar to spies." she responded.

Then, Lucy stood from her seat and looked towards the back of the room.

"Valerie, would you mind showing Chloe where she will be staying."

"Of course." the small girl spoke for the first time. Her voice was soft yet strong all at once. She then turned her small frame towards me.

"You can follow me this way." she spoke as she motioned towards the door.

After ascending a couple flights of stairs, we found ourselves in a hallway. The walls were a calming shade of blue and there were a total of four doors, two on each side of the walls. Valerie continued walking and spoke as she made her way down the hall.

"These two doors on the right are Sam's and Lucy's rooms." she said as she motioned to her right.

"The first door on the left belong to a couple of the other employees who you have yet to meet. And this one," she said as she stopped in front of the last door on the left and placed her hand over the knob, "This one belongs to me."

She opened the door and walked in. I followed her into the apartment like area. The walls were painted a light green and decorated with artwork.  There was a small, comfy looking white couch placed in the middle of the room facing a medium sized flat screen tv. A few feet behind the couch were two doors.
