"It's time for dinner, doodlebug." I heard my mother call up to me from the kitchen.
"Coming!" I screeched. Knowing that tonight we will be having my favorite meal, lasagna. I frantically searched for a hair tie to tame my long brown hair. Once I found it, I made my way downstairs and sat myself next to my dad.
"And tonight we thank our father for the meal he has given us. For he is the reason we eat, walk, and breath. We give our sole to you, in Jesus name, Amen." My fathers voice hummed through my ears as he blessed our dinner.
"Daisy slow down dear, you might choke." My mother purred. Scrunching her nose in disgust at my fast eating habits.

I nervously walked into my teen leadership class room. I looked up and saw that there were three open seats in the front. I gladly took one seeing how I am an honor role student and I need to see what's happening throughout the lesson. I never really understood how people would like to sit in the back, away from the teacher and lessons. My mother told me everyone in the back of the room are the ones that will be serving me dinner when I grow older.
My thoughts were set aside as my teacher, Ms. Vangoen, proudly waltzed into the room. "Students, today I will be assigning partners for our next assignment. You must create a poem describing the connections between your families. But there's a twist, you must incorporate both of your families in the poem." She took a moment to breath before speaking again. "Liliana and Jake, Trevor and Ryan, Josifine and Ashley, Emma and Rylan, Yuri and Kevin, Bell and Jacob, Josh and Tylor, And lastly Daisy and Jack. You have two weeks until this assignment is due."
My mind went blank, Jack? As in... Jack Johnson?
I felt a warm hand brush against my shoulder, "Your Daisy right?"
I quickly stood up, "Y-yes. And you must be-"
"Jack." He interrupted, how rude.
"Well I think we should get started on our, um, family project." I spoke my words growing quiet.
"Or you can meet me at my house this weekend and we can do it there, this place is full of to make fakes that don't need to know my personal shit." His voice was cold as he looked at everyone around us.
I was a little taken back by his poor word choice, one I regained my self I answered. "I think that sound alike a very good plan, but I was thinking maybe my house? I'm sure yours is appealing but-"
"Dude it's not like in going to rape you." He interrupted, again.
"I will think about it." I laughed. Please don't insist on me going to some awful place.
"Yeah whatever, see you tomorrow."
