'Journal entry 125: August 27

Have you ever just sat there, looking into space and feeling a tight grip wrap around your heart. It's squeezing,  not allowing you to breathe; and slowly, slowly, you feel the tears start to fall down. One after another the fits start and you just can't help it. The pain is so bad, it's indescribable. People say love hurts, but those word are used so vaguely. Love doesn't just hurt, love kills. It doesn't just take your breath away, it takes away a piece of you, making you fragmented, shattering you into small different pieces where you can't get yourself back up on track again. That's what love is. Not the holding hands, forehead kisses, and cuddle sessions. It's the feeling you get when you break down into a million pieces. It's when you can feel your heart shatter against your rib cage. It's murder, that's love.'

"Come on Daisy, it isn't that bad." Jack laughed tauntingly. In his hand he held a French fry that had been dropped onto the table before dipped into my lemonade.

"I am not putting that in my mouth. What kind of diseases do you think had been here?!" I laughed while snorting my nose in disgust.

"Fine, have it your way." Jack smirked.

I frowned my eyes unsure of what he meant, but just then, he lunged towards me with the fry; making him and I fall from our seats. The loud noise make the whole lunch room turn heads towards us as chatter arose.

"Are they a thing?"

"He's done it again."

"She doesn't even know what she's getting herself into."

I quickly regained myself as did jack. He grinned at me awkwardly before helping me bring my tray to the trash can.

"Let's ditch." Jack smirked as he took my hand and led me out of the cafeteria.

On our way to class, Jack began; "Daisy, do you want to maybe go to a movie or something tonight?"

I stopped abruptly, taking in what he just asked. I looked up to him; he was nervous, I could tell. "Y-you mean like on a date? Or is this just to finish our project-"

"A date." He spoke softly, but not at all calm.

"With me?" I smiled, unable to hide my joyfulness.

Jack looked nervous and a bit uncomfortable by my answer and quickly nodded awaiting my reply.

"I'd love to."

"Alright," he smiled, "tonight then."

"Tonight." I giggled, walking into my classroom, leaving the boy mesmerized.

"Mom! Have you seen my earrings? The one with the black embellishments?" I called to my mother, still frantically searching for my jewelry.

"The black ones?" My mother asked, appearing from the doorway.

"Yes? Someone wrong?"

"You just never wear," she paused and referred to my black dress with dark laced sleeves, "this much, dark, colors."

"Well, I'm trying out a new look." I stated.

My mother look confused but her expression soon changed into a smirk as she realized where I was going. "Where are you headed to?"

"I-well," I paused, not knowing how she would feel about her daughter going out with a boy. "I'm going on a date, with Jack."

"Oh, Jack." She mocked, "I don't know you two were, together."

"We aren't! I-it's just a study date." I stuttered, "anyway he will be here soon so do have those earrings or not.?"

"No, but have fun on your date."

"I'll try" I mumbled, walking back up to my room.

After applying my make up and running a straightener through my hair, I checked my phone and noticed there was a message from Jack.

Jack; I'll be there in 5

Daisy; I'll be waiting(:

Immediately after pressing send I cringed. Did I seriously just send a smiley face.

Then a new wave washed over my face, and my palms began to sweat. Am I getting.. nervous? No, it's just a silly boy. My stomach turned and I felt a small flutter in my stomach.

"Daisy! Jack's here!" My mom hollered at me from the living room.

Taking another look at myself, I studied all my features before grabbing my bag and making my way the the beloved boy.

"Madam." Jack joked, taking my hand and walking me out the door. He lead me to his car and open the passenger door, "after you."

After letting me in he hurriedly made his was to his side and started the engine.

"So, where to?" I asked, taking in how well he looked in his dark jeans and navy shirt with a pocket on the side, his usual style.

"Eh, I don't know. McDonalds?" He laughed, glancing over at me.

"Oh come on I didn't wear heels to go to McDonalds."

"You're right, Burger King is much more fitting." He chuckled, readjusting his hands on the wheel and fidgeting in his seat.

"Why so fidgety, the famous Jack Johnson isn't nervous is he?" I giggled.

Clenched and a smirk appeared on his face, "I don't know, seeing you in that tight of a dress, who wouldn't be nervous." He glanced over at my pale expression, laughing. "Who's fidgety
now."
