Three weeks have passed, three whole weeks of non-stop training. We weren't even sent out on any bounties either but, were told to kill any supernatural we see.
Of course, everyone listened and did as they were told, I mean... It's their job so that's kinda obvious.
But not me.
Just for the record, I know very well that I'm breaking the rules but, why should I kill some innocent supernatural for something they haven't done? It's not like I'm rebelling against the head of the alliance at all. This just doesn't seem right. Not all of them are coming after you to claw your face off.
The main boss back at HQ doesn't get that apparently though, he just wants all of em' dead. Hell, if he finds out what I am he'll probably want me dead too. It wouldn't matter if I'm the best fighter here, he will, and I quote. "Will not tolerate supernaturals working in our ranks. They would only join to infiltrate the alliance and end us all from the inside." Kinda paranoid but I guess he has a point.....somewhere.
Today is the last day of training. (Until Tuesday.) And everyone is either going home to sleep or go out and party. When I heard that we had four days of freedom, I couldn't contain my excitement. It's rare to be given several free days so everyone spends them wisely. I planned myself a solo movie night and everything.
Around 10pm, when I left work and was on my way home, I went to a small store that is a few blocks away from the apartment. It's open 24/7 so I bought snacks and sodas for my night. After I bought all the necessary materials and two six packs of beer I went home.
When I got there nobody was home, only a little note on the coffee table from the girls that read : Yo, we goin out to party. There's a rave club not too far from home (well at least If u take a train) if u wanna join us jus call Hanas phone number kay?
Here's tha # 345-xxx-xxxxI scoffed. Do they actually expect me to go after that?
"Like hell I'm going." I mumble and crumple the paper up.
I went straight to my room and changed into baggy sweatpants and a star wars t-shirt then proceeded to lay on my bed for a few minutes. I feel exhausted. My legs are so sore right now, I can only imagine what the recruits are feeling.
I place the bag of snacks to the side and reach to the left of the bed, fumbling through my bag until I pull out my laptop and some CD's.
Looking through them I pick one out and place it in the DVD player of the laptop. While the movie menu pops up I open one bag of chips and a bottle of soda. I position myself in the most comfy way I possibly can and press play.*A scene in the movie*
Marius: A vampire's life is a life of discretion.
Lestat: Discretion? Why should we hide, Marius? We are the powerful. We are the immortal. We should walk fearless in the open.
"Yeah, you tell him Lestat." I mumble while eating chips.
[They both stop to watch a girl playing a violin]
Marius: That cannot be. We are vulnerable during the day. Mortals must never know of us.
Lestat: So I could never know her?
Marius: Not unless you wanted to kill her.
Lestat: So I can never be known?
Marius: You must be dead to the world
Halfway through the scene my phone vibrates, I ignore it and continue watching the movie, occasionally stuffing my mouth with food. About two minutes later it vibrates again and I do the same thing, I ignore it. After a few minutes it begins to ring, this time I pause the movie and answer a bit annoyed.
