"A beneficiary?" Manik asked, his voice laced with confusion and a hint of anger. "What is that supposed to mean? That one of us is behind this?"
NK's gaze didn't flicker. "It means, Mr. Malhotra, that while your parents were busy building empires and burying secrets, someone was watching. Someone who didn't just inherit your wealth, but also inherited the rot beneath it."
"That's enough!" Abhishek stood up, his chair scraping harshly against the floor. "First you insult our parenting, and now you're accusing our children? Manik, Aman, and Mukti have been under fire just as much as we have!"
"Being a target is the best way to hide a motive," Koel muttered from the corner, not looking up from her weapon check.
The room was thick with suspicion. The families looked at each other—once-close friends now wondering if the person sitting next to them was the one feeding information to the attackers.
"Let's look at the facts," Karan intervened, his voice steadying the room. "The mole provided the convoy route. The mole knew about the private bureau meeting. And the mole knows the exact psychological pressure points to hit—specifically, the mention of Pari."
He turned to Aman, who was still trembling. "Aman. You've been the quietest person in this room. NK mentioned earlier that you never clarified how you fell. Sixteen years is a long time to keep a secret. Did Pari push you, or did you let her take the fall for something else?"
The pressure in the room shifted entirely onto Aman. Pragya reached out for her son's hand, but he pulled it away.
She pushed back her chair and stood up, moving towards the wide window that overlooked the driveway. "You said Pari was at fault for pushing Aman, and your son was the victim. Tell me, Mr. Abhishek, what actually happened that night? Did she push him, or did he fall?"
Abhishek sighed heavily, the weight of the day evident. "They were playing near the top of the grand staircase. Aman admitted he was showing off, playing on the railing. When Pari tried to pull him back to stop him from falling, he fall. He hit his head. In my anger and panic, I saw Pari standing over him and just... I assumed the worst. and technically if she didn't pull him with force then he might not have fall."
"So she tried to save him, and you blamed her for the fall," NK stated flatly. The families looked down in shame.
Karan smoothly took over, moving past the personal pain. "NK, we need to focus on the security leak. Khanna is our prime suspect, but his trail is cold."
