By the time I reached the asphalt in the parking lot, tears were streaming down my face. I was terrified. I found myself running. I had to get as far away from him as possible. But my legs are shorter, so I run slower. He caught up to me. He grabbed my upper arm and stopped me.
"Ow Jimmy let me go! You're hurting me!!!!" I screamed in the empty parking lot.
"No! What the fuck Camille!?!" Oh God save me. The streaming tears had suddenly turned to rivers. He never called me by my first name. "What do you mean you're in love with Arianna?"
"What else could it mean Jackson?" Shit! Papi's last name thing was rubbing off on me.
"You know what dyke, get your ass away from me!"
"What the fuck Jimmy?!?! YOU followed ME!!!" I had to get away from him. I ran down the street in pure terror. Luckily Arie only lived 15 minutes away. I had to find a safe place.
I got up to her door step and was still crying. I texted her, and told her to come outside. She opened the door and I collapsed at her feet. All I wanted was for her to sit beside me, put my head on her lap, and stroke my hair. I wanted to be comforted. But instead she picked me up and took me in the house. We sat on the couch, and she held me. She was waiting for me to calm down. I couldn't tell if she was doing all of this out of pity or love, but I didn't care. It felt good. It felt right.
"Now what happened Mami?" She said after my sobbing had died down.
"I don't know how to explain it Arie..." She gave me a look, "I mean...I can't explain it Papi."
"Try. For me."
"Jimmy broke up with me..." The tears were coming back.
She stood up. "That's it!?!" She was upset. I could see it all over her face.
"No, no. You don't get it. We broke up because...of you..." Fear struck me in the gut.
"What the fuck do I have to do with you guys' relationship? More specifically your break up? I'm not gonna let you blame me-"
"NO! Arianna I'm not blaming you. If anything I'm thanking you."
"Ok. Now I'm confused. Start over. What the fuck happened after I left?"
It was time for me to come clean. I had to tell her the truth. "I told Jimmy the truth."
"Which is...?"
"I can't."
"Tell me Morris!"
"I'd be embarrassed."
"Spit it out Camille!"
"I TOLD HIM I WAS IN LOVE WITH YOU!"
When I said that she kind of staggered back. I cupped my face in my hands. I couldn't deal with this. "Why would you tell him that?"
"Because...it's true."
"Ummmm...I...well..." Her face was beet red. "I love you too." She said in a whisper.
"What?" I looked up at her in shock.
She grabbed me by the hand and stood me up. She moved my hair out of my face. She stepped in closer, and with another whisper she said, "I love you too Mami."
