What?

I stand in the line for breakfast  waiting for my friends to show up.
"Hey," Claire says next to me.
"Hi," I said.
"David says sorry," she says and I nod.
"Hola," Zoey says and walks to the line with us.
I wave and pull out my phone to text Caleb.
Allie🌹🌆- Where are you?
Caleb🏰👞- Practice
Allie🌹🌆-ok I'll be there after Breakfast
Caleb🏰👞-I want to be alone
I read the message and put my phone away frowning.
"What's wrong?" Evelyn says swiftly coming towards us.
"Nothing nothing at all," I said faking a smile. I twist the dragon ring around my finger.
"I find it iconic that you wear a dragon ring and Maleficent was a dragon," Evelyn mentions and I bite my lip.
"What do you mean this ring has been in the line of the family forever," I say trying to keep my cool.
"Yea she told me the whole story," Claire says backing me up. I nodded and walk up in line. I grab a small box of cereal and pour milk in. As I walk to a table the intercom crackles to life. "Students, there will be a summer ball this Friday. Remember everyone needs a date it counts as a grade," the headmistress's voice says.
"Oh this is just great," Claire says sarcastically. "Agreed," I said.
"It's going to be great," Evelyn boast.
"And how's that?" Zoey asks pour milk into the bowl.
"I'm the head party planner!" Evelyn squeals. "Great," I say sarcastically. Evelyn pouts as I walk over to a table. I spoon out some frosted corn flakes and eat it. Claire sits in front of me. "What's wrong?" She asks.
"Can you read my mind?" I ask and laugh a little.
"Yes," Claire says giggling. "And Bernard says you look sad." Claire takes out a book and a face is on it. "Bernard meet Allie."
"Why hello Claire had told me a lot about you," Bernard says in a British accent. I hold back a scream.
"Um hi," I said. Evelyn sits down.
"I'll do the dresses,hair, and makeup so just show up," Evelyn says smiling.
"I see you met Bernard," Zoey says and I nod. She laughs a little.
"Isn't that great?" Claire beams and I pretend to roll my eyes. I look around and people start coming in.
"So you're going to do the dress," I say trying to change the subject.
"Yea I was think a crystal white dress for me, a red one for Zoey, yellow for Claire, and a black with roses for you," Evelyn says and I nod. I really don't car but if she messes up I need to know what to make the dress look like. I twist the dragon ring on my finger and stare off into space.
"Allie?" Evelyn says shouting my name. "What?" I ask.
"Did you hear me?" Evelyn asks.
"No E," I said.
"The headmistress wants you in the office," Claire says.
"Oh," I say faking a smile and I get up and walk to the office.
"There she is," Brenda, the secretary, cries. "What did I do?" I ask worried.
"Nothing we have a new student he's from the city like you so we thought you should show him around," Brenda says joyously. She takes me to the guidance counselor's office and there sits Colton Beaven.
"Colton?" I ask and he smiles.
"Allie Rose wondering where you went," Colton says.
"So you know each other great," Mrs. Jacks says. Colton stands up and we start walking to the cafeteria. Colton was my ex-boyfriend and the only reason we broke up is because he moved away. I forgot about him with Caleb and everything.
"How's it been?" Colton asks and I nod.
"My mom is Briar Rose," I said faking a smile. "Princess eh?" He says and I laugh.
"My father is Jack, from the beanstalk," he says and I stiff a laugh.
"That's unique."
"Tell me about it."
"I have to go finish eating do you mind?" I ask and he shakes his head and we walk into the cafeteria.
"When they said they were sending down Allison Roseanne I didn't think it was you Allie Rose," he said and I laughed. My thoughts turn to Caleb and I stop thinking about Colton. I bump into a guy and turn to see who it is. "Allie," David says softly.
"I'm sorry let's just be friends," I said and he nods as Colton and I walk to my table, boys and girls turn my way.
"What's up with them?" He asks.
"They are crazy. You're new and I'm a princess," I say as we sit down.
"E, Zoey, and Claire meet Colton Beaven, my ex," I said.
"Only cause I moved away," Colton chimed in. "Oh does he know about-" Zoey gets cut off by Claire's hand.
"My friends," I say.
"I'm Evelyn and this is Zoey and Claire," E says.
"I'll show you around everywhere," I say throwing my bowl away.
"Bye guys," Claire says and we walk to practice field.
"This is our practice field for heroes and sometimes princesses," I said.
"So Princess Allie how good are you?" He says and I laugh. I look around and nobody is here until I see Caleb practicing at the edge of the field.
"One moment," I say and direct him to the weapons.
Allie🌹🌆- Turn around you need to meet someone.
Caleb🏰👞-ok?
He turns around and Colton stops messing with the weapons. Colton runs his hand back threw his brown hair as Caleb walks over. The scan each other and I stand between them. "Who's he?" Caleb and Colton says at the same time.
"Caleb meet Colton,"I say.
"Is he why Claire texted me watch your back?"Caleb says.
"Not completely," I said.
"I'm was her boyfriend until I moved to Kansas half way though the year. We only broke up because of long distance," Colton says firmly,"And you are?"
"Her boyfriend," Caleb says and I stare at him shocked.
"I don't even know this Caleb," I shout and pull him aside.
"We aren't dating at all I like you but I don't want to start dating again," I say firmly.
"He just brought up that he was your last boyfriend!" Caleb loudly whispers.
"Cause that's who he is to me," I say.
"David and I just made up I don't need another problem."
"I know Allie," he says.
"I'm sure Colton doesn't like me anymore you don't need to freight. Besides I like you," I say smiling.
"Want to go to the ball then?" He asks smiling. "Of course," I say and we walk back to Colton. "We aren't dating I overreacted," Caleb says. "Well we better be moving along go a whole place for Rose to show me," Colton says. I wave by and we walk to the school part for in the school year.
"It's closed off now but still thought you would want to see it," I say and he looks at it.
"So are you and Caleb really dating?"
"No."
"Good, because-," he starts to say but my phone goes off.
"One moment," I say and pull out my phone it's Evelyn. I picked up,"Hello," I say.
"Come to my dorm soon we are going to look at the dresses in going to make so I can practice," Evelyn's voice says.
"Ok see you soon," I say and hang up. I put my phone in the back pocket of my shorts and walk back to him.
"You need to go?" He asks.
"Yea sorry it's about the upcoming ball plans and everything," I say and smile.
"Of course Rose but I think I need to ask you something when you can," he says and I nod. I hug him and hurry back to the dorms. I walk to the dorms past the practice field.
"Allie I need to talk to you about the dance and Colton later are you free," Caleb asks when I walk on the practice field.
"Can't I promised Colton I would talk to him but maybe later," I say and he continues to sword practice. I walk to the dorm level for fairies and come to Evelyn's. She has a one person room and she painted her door a hot pink. I turn the knob and walk in.
"Hey," I say. Claire stands there with her blue top ripped and the same at the bottom of her white jeans.
"Did a wolf come in a destroy you?" I ask frightened. "No Evelyn's wand did," Claire whispers as E sits at her desk going though spells. I nod to Claire and cast a spell and Claire is wearing a yellow strapless dress. Zoey who was standing next to Evelyn trying to help turned around.
"Evelyn it worked maybe it works after a while," I said trying to fake it.
"Yay! Let me try it again on all of us!" Evelyn squealed and I put my hand behind my back and cast a spell as she does. I look over and Zoey is wearing a strapless red dress and Evelyn was wearing black a crystal white strapless dress. I was wearing a black satin rose print dress with black flats.
"Perfect," I say smiling.
"I got a date," Zoey says and we gather around her.
"Who?" We all ask.
"David only because we need it for our grade," Zoey says and we nod.
"I'm going with Luke, Rumpelstiltskin's son," Claire says and we all look at her. We have both been in the library and even though his father was rude he's so nice and sweet and smart," Claire says smiling.
"I'm going with my wand," Evelyn says and we all laugh.
"I think I'm going with Caleb," I say.
"Why wouldn't you?" Zoey asks and I tell them the story of what happened with Colton and Caleb.

"Oh," Zoey says and I nod. I check the time 12:38.
"Time for lunch," I say and Evelyn/me zaps us into our real clothes. I feel more comfortable in my black shorts and shirt that has apples and a tree that says Once Upon A Time. We walk down to lunch and stand in line.
"Really the dress are amazing, Evelyn," Zoey says and we all nod.
"Thanks to you," Claire whispers to me. I grab a turkey and cheese sandwich and a fruit cup. Claire grabs an extra water bottle.
"For the dresses," she says and I smile.
"Want to sit outside?" I ask and they nod. We exit to the tables on the roof outside. I sit down at a table with 8 seats mainly cause it's the only one free.
"Hey girls," David and Colton say when they find us.
"I see you guys are friends," I say and we all laugh.
"I'll text Caleb and Luke to come," Claire says eying me and she pulls out her phone. I unwrap my sandwich and take a bite.
"Turkey and cheese on white bread," Colton says and I smile.
"Yea how did you know?" I ask smiling.
"That's all you eat for lunch last summer," he says and I keep smiling. We all start eating and then Luke and Caleb come up.
"Hey girls and Colton," Caleb says.
"Hey," David says.
"And David," Caleb says and sits next to Luke who is sitting next to Claire.
"So anyone have plans for the dance?" Evelyn brings up.
"Yea," we all say. I look around as everyone tells their dance plans. Colton and Caleb are silent until it comes to me.
"Well I'm going," I say and they look at me.
"I need to talk to some people first," I say and they nod. I stab my fork into a strawberry and I start to eat it. The sweet flavor chills all my taste buds and I smile. I think of what's going one. Colton and Caleb both want to go to the dance with me. I don't know if I still like Colton or not. What to do what to do? I throw my trash away and walk to the snack bar. I get a cup of coffee and sip it as I watch Burn Notice. "What's up Allison Rose?" Colton says as he sits down next to me.
"Just watching TV," I say.
"Burn Notice?" He asks and I nod.
"What's with you and Prince Charming?" He asks and I pause the TV to look at him.
"What do you mean? Are you talking about Caleb?" I ask and he nods.
"He was one of my first friends and why do you need to know," I ask. He shakes it off and I turn his head towards mine so he's looking at me.
"What was it you need to ask me?" I ask. Colton leaned in and quickly planted a kiss on my lips. Something that hasn't happened since he moved away. I move away too shocked to say anything.
"What are you doing we broke up?" I ask. "Because I moved away I'm here again," he says.
"I need time to think," I say and walk out of the lounge. I turn to the girl dorms and walk into my dorm. Claire isn't there so I whip out my phone to start a group text.
Allie🌹🌆- Girl emergency come quickly
Claire📚💡- I'm be right there just got to get some books
Evelyn✨🎃- running down the stairs be there soon
Zoey🐺🚨- in the movie room on my way.
As soon as I got replies I sat on the couch in the lounge part of the room.

Once everyone showed up I told them what happened.
"What he's still in love with you?!?!" Evelyn exclaimed. I nodded and bite my lip.
"We can't let Caleb find out," I said and they nodded.
"I thought Colton was dating a girl in Kansas but he still likes me," I say starting to pace. "Let's just calm down," Zoey says and I sit down.
"Dinner is coming so we can sort this out,"Claire says and we all walk down to dinner. We stand in line for steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Once we get it we sit down at an empty table.
"I just hope they don't see us," I say and someone puts their hands over my eyes. Only one person would do that," Colton," I say. "Yea," he says and sits next to me.
"Usually Caleb sits there," Zoey says tearing into her steak.
"Oh I'll just sit here for today," he says though clenched teeth. I see Caleb go though the line and I stand up and walk to him.
"Hey," I say stealing one of his green beans and popping it in my mouth.
"Hi Rose. Nope that does work for me Allie,"he says and I laugh.
"It doesn't have to I like you the way you are," I say and he smiles.
"Come on," I say and pull on his arm.
"So how's the dress," he asks.
"Good thanks to E it's black with rose print," I say and he nods. We walk back to the table and he sees Colton in his place.
"What's he doing here?" Caleb ask angrily. "Why can't we all sit and eat dinner with no romantic gestures at all," I say and they fake smile. I squeeze my way between Zoey and Evelyn and they get the gesture.
"So Evelyn how's the magic," Caleb ask being nice. "Good," Evelyn says and goes on about the magic.
"I've heard you too like books. I packed a limited edition Harry Potter set if you want it. I wasn't as into the books as Rose has told me," Colton says and Claire smiles from ear to ear. "Yes please," she practically shouts. Caleb turns to Colton and looks a little annoyed. This is going to be a long night.
