Detention

My whole group besides Colton and Caleb are against me. Great and we have detention on a Saturday. I roll over in bed and see Claire is in bed reading.
"Claire I never meant to get us detention," I say.
"Whatever Allie," she says while looking at her book and I climb down from my loft bed. "Claire look at me I'm truly sorry," I say and she looks down and screams.
"What what is it?" I ask and look around.
"Y-Your hair has a red streak in it," she says and my eyes widen. I run over to my mirror and sure enough a scarlet red streak sits on the left side of my short brown hair.
"My mom is going to kill me! She believes in natural beauty besides makeup says enhances your beauty," I groan. Then I put on shorts and a red shirt.
"Check the staff," Claire says and I open the closet and grab it. The ball on top of it is red. "It caused this!" I say and frown.
"I'm sure you'll be fine," Claire says and I calm down.
"You're right," I say and slip on black low-tops. Claire climbs down and changes.
"I'll see you in detention," I say then grab my sword and she groans.
"Oh right you ruined my perfect record," she groans and I walk down to the cafeteria.

I grab a bowl of cereal then take a seat next to Caleb.
"Hey damsel in distress," I say and he laughs. "Hi Prince Charming, your hair that's new" he greets and I smile.
"I know. Why are you so perfect?" I joke and punch him.
"Why does a supposed princess have a strong arm?" He asks.
"Hero not princess," I correct and he smiles. "I'm glad hero," he says and I smile. I look at the table behind him and see our friends gathered talking.
"They are still mad at me for getting us detention," I say and he turns around.
"It's not your fault you just wanted us to stop being royal teens," he says and I smile.
"More like royal pains in the butt," Eva says and slams her hand down.
"Why do they always show up?" I groan.
"Hi Caleb," the girls echo.
"Listen I'm sick of your whiny attitude and you showing up every minute to make my life horrible. So why don't you just leave or make me make you leave," I threaten.
"Are you threatening us?" Aubrey asks.
"Yea and I have my sword and my fists and they have been dying to meet you,"I say.
"You wouldn't dare," Kayla pushes and I unsheathed my sword and hold it up to them.
"I would hate to get more sword dirty. 1...2-"
"Ok, ok, we are gone," Eva says and the group walk away but Brittany stays.
"You will never be a true princess," she says and walks away.
"I'm planning on becoming a queen and I'm a hero!" I shout as she walks away. I look around and see people mumbling and pointing at my hair.
"They are acting like they've never seen a person with hair color," I ask.
"It's not the ladylike thing to do," Caleb says and I roll my eyes.
"You know me I never do the ladylike thing," I say and he smirks.
"That's what I like about you," he says and taps my nose.
"Want to go practice?" I ask.
"You can't. Detention," he reminds and I groan. "I forgot," I say and we slowly walk to headmistress' tower.

All of us stand around the circular room waiting for the Headmistress to say something. "Oh good you're here. I've informed your parents and now for your chores," the headmistress says and pulls out a list.
"Allison and Claire you'll be cleaning the classes on the first floor.
Evelyn and Zoey second floor classrooms. Caleb, David and Albert you'll be doing groundskeeping," she says.
"We don't have a person named Albert here," Claire says and Headmistress looks back over the list.
"Albert Colton Beaven?" She says and Colton raises his hand.
"Your name is Albert? I didn't even know that," I say and we all start laughing.
"Enough! Off you go I'll be talking all magical possessions. Cough them up!" She says as Evelyn hands her her wand, Claire gives her Bernard, and Colton gives her a pouch. She makes a loud cough," Including weapons." I make an audible groan and Colton, Caleb, David, and I unstrap our swords and hand them over. "Go on now," she says and pushes us out the door.

Claire and I walk to the first classroom and grab the cleaning supplies.
"Claire I'm sorry for everything. Please forgive me," I say.
"Fine only because we have to work together," Claire says and picks up a bucket. I smirk and wave my hand and the room cleans itself. "What did you do Allie?" She says.
"Magic," I say and hold up my hand with my ring.
"Allie she'll notice we finished it quickly," Claire says and I think for a second.
"We'll say we learned it from our parents, duh," I say and Claire shrugs. I concentrate on cleaning and a white wave shoots out of my ring.
"Let's check the rooms just in case," Claire says. We walk in all the rooms and all of them are spotless.
"Perfect," I say and we walk back to headmistress' tower.

"Back so soon. What happened you got lost?" Headmistress snaps.
"No we're done," I say and she scrunched her eyebrows.
"How that's about 25 classrooms?" She ask. "Guess we got it from our parents," Claire says and Headmistress grabs my hand with my ring on it.
"How long have you had this ring?" She questions.
"It's been in my family for ages," I say and take my hand back.
"Weird Maleficent has one just like that and it's gone missing. I suppose you don't know anything about that do you?" She asks and I shrug.
"No I didn't even know Maleficent had a ring," I say playing dumb.
"Good to know. You are to go help the others now," she says firmly and shoo's us.
"That wasn't the deal," I say.
"You'll do what I say I'm the headmistress," she snaps and Claire and I leave. When we get far enough I send the white beam out.
"You need to chill with that she was getting onto you," Claire commands as we walk back up.
"Miss, Caleb and Evelyn texted me that they are done so we are all released. Correct?" I ask and she groans.
"Yes you are dismissed," she spats and I run out to the grounds.

"It was weird like we were working then the work was done," Colton says and Caleb and I smile.
"Maybe someone helped you or Evelyn's wand sent it," I suggest and he nods then walks away with David.
"You did it didn't you?" Caleb asks and I nod. "Thanks Allie," he says and kisses my forehead then wraps me in a hug.
"No problem," I say.
"I'm really liking the red in your hair it goes well," Caleb says and I kiss his cheek. "Thanks," I say and we walk back up to the castle.
