CHAPTER 9
Today I return to my district by myself , Cato will visit soon.
I’m on the train and we will be there in 30 minutes so I pull on a salmon pink skater dress with lace detail and cream peep toe high heels on.
I let my braid down and my hair goes around my shoulders with waves.
By the time I’m dressed the train arrives.
The door opens and I walk out bravely.
My whole district has gathered in the square to welcome me.
I wave every now and again and smile at everyone.
“Sweetheart , are you going to get your baby yet?” Haymitch asks soberly.
“I’ll get changed and go” I say bravely.
I climb into my car that will take me to my house in the victors village.
The car stops and I clamber out and I see the most beautiful house I’ve ever seen.
I open the door with my key Haymitch gave me.
I don’t get to admire the house , I just run up to my room and get changed quickly into a navy tank top , green poofy skirt , white cardigan and flat white pumps.
I brush my hair and braid to the side like usual.
I sprint down the stairs and walk to the bakery.
I’m outside the bakery.
I walk up the steps slowly and bravely knock on the door.
Mr.Mellark answers.
“Hello , I’m here to take back my daughter” I ask politely.
“Sure thing”he says as he turns to go and get her.
I wait for about 2 minutes until he comes back.
“She knows you’re her mom” he says.
He hands me my daughter.
She looks like me , grey blue eyes , brown hair and tan skin.
“Thank you Mr.Mellark” I say and then I walk away with my daughter in hand.
I sit her down on my lap while I buy things off the shopping channel for her.
I buy her a patchwork teddy bear , a dark purple car seat , a pink fluffy rabbit toy , a white leather rocking chair , a pink and white wooden crib , 2 white dressers with paintings of birds on them , pink floral highchair , pink front facing buggy , a light pink fleece blanket , purple floral pacifier and lots of baby clothes.
My baby didn’t have a name when she was with the mellarks so I’m choosing to call her Willow Ivy Everdeen.
She is just after turning one and she can’t walk that well , she can say the words sky , sun and tree.
“Want to go to see uncle Gale?” I ask her with a smile.
She smiles at me and I scoop her up in my arms and bring her upstairs to get her dressed.
I dress her in a casual grey dress with a white bow, blue cardigan and white booties.
I put her in her buggy while I get dressed.
I put on green patterned sun dress , white cardigan and white leather sandals.
I braid my hair.
I push Willow in her buggy down the road and we make our way to the Seam.
I push the buggy down the gravelly road as Willow burbles happily to herself.
“Let’s go to mama’s old house Willow” , I say cheerfully.
She burbles cheerfully pointing at the flock of birds in the sky.
I smile at her adorable antics.
I stop outside my house and see the door is a small bit ajar.
I lift Willow out of her pushchair and leave the pushchair on the porch.
I walk into my house to see Snow glaring at me snakily.
My cheerful mood drops.
