-Laura's POV-

I peeked from behind the blinds in my bathroom window, heart pounding, as Harry walked cooly down my driveway and into his blacked out cab; even the back of him was gorgeous. My heart didn't slow at the sight of his tail lights departing my street, in fact, it remained pumping at the same pace as when his lips were within an inch of mine. I was just one inch away from the lips of a heaven sent angel. I bet he tasted as good as he looked, I thought.

"Get a hold of yourself," I told my hormones, as I looked towards Jared's coat draped over the railing.

I wondered where he was, I mean he doesn't have a curfew or anything, but it would be nice to know why I was left standing in the rain.

I checked the voicemail and found no messages or missed calls. I headed towards the kitchen to find there wasn't a note on the fridge either. I grabbed the phone, dialled his number and it rang twice before going straight to voicemail. I hung up and called again; this time it didn't even ring.

"Hi Jared, just checking in to see if you're okay. You forgot to pick me up earlier, but I'm home now. Wanted to say good night before I go to bed, love you and the spare key is in the garage," I said, worried that something was wrong.

Worry was definitely not a new thing for me, his phone was always dead when he was out late.

I grabbed a face cloth and began to wash off my make up in the bathroom, when I heard my phone go off from the bedroom. I rushed to get it, hoping that Jared was confirming he was alive and well. I unlocked my phone to find a random number.

Hi Laura, glad I met you today. I'm home now, sweet dreams, x. H

My cheeks tightened as a smile started to form on my face. I've known Harry for only a day and he even has the decency to check in and say he's safe.

Laura: I cannot thank you enough for the ride and the tea. Sweet dreams as well.

I stared at the message a few seconds longer, then pressed send. My finger hovered over the delete button as I realized my boyfriend would not react well to my new friend; he was protective, after all. I finally clicked delete and climbed into my bed to sleep.

I awoke the next morning to the sound of Jared walking through the door, as quietly as possible, but still not quiet enough. I reached for my phone to check the time; 6:00 a.m. I heard a creek in the doorway and then felt the comforter fold back as he entered the bed and wrapped his arm tightly around me. He nuzzled his head into my neck and kissed my cheek.

"Where were you last night?" I whispered, startling him.

He kissed my cheek once more, as he formed his body to mine within the sheets.

"Out with the boys," he said into my ear while his hand rubbed my arm. "My phone died and I lost track of time."

He was always affectionate after his late nights out with the boys.

"You should take your phone in to get looked at, it's dying a lot lately," I replied.

I climbed out of bed and heard him let out a disappointed groan. I was wide awake now and there was no point trying to sleep when I would have to be up to get ready for work in half-an-hour.

I boiled the kettle and stared at my tea cup, guiltily reminiscing about the long haired boy and the cafe I was at last night. Once the kettle was boiled, I made my tea and headed outside to sip on it while sitting on the veranda. I had a busy day ahead of me, lots of work to finish and errands to run, but I couldn't even begin to think about them with last night on my mind; the water dripping over his shirt, his messy hair, his eyes, the same shade of green faded into this mornings sunrise.
