I Stay

Cast out to sea

Drifting waiting watching

As everyone else 

Runs and plays

I stay

The sun shines above

The water shimmers below 

Under the powerful rays

What a beautiful sight

I stay

If only those 

Rays worked the same on me

Then I would be like the sea

Strong and beautiful

I stay

I can still see the shore

But smaller and small the people get

I can no longer make out their faces

As I drift on

I stay

Hoping the farther I float

The less I have to care

The less they judge

The less fight I do for perfect

I stay

The sky fades into deep

Orange and pink

The perfect sunset 

Places fear in my eye

I stay

What if where I go 

I'm still not perfect

What if I will never be good enough

No matter where I am

I stay

One day I will be perfect

One day it will all work out

One day no one to compare to 

One day I will be happy

So I stay
