I had a strange craving for pastry in the morning, causing me to walk to the closest bakery in my neighborhood.
As I bought my sweets and walked out the bakery I decided to walk the long way home since the weather was nice today.
While walking, I looked down at my sweets and decided on which one to eat first - being the weird food obsessor that I am - and immediately bumped into someone.
I quickly began to apologize until I remembered that scent of leather and cinnamon.
"You again." He smiled down at me.
Marshall.
"You just keep on following me around, don't you?" I joked grinning.
"Who wouldn't want to follow you around?" He laughed, causing me to laugh too. He turned around and walked with me.
"So what brings you back to Detroit?" I asked taking a bite of my pastry sweet.
He shrugs and takes one of my pastries.
Probably personal. I thought.
He walked me to my house and told me he would talk to me later, I invited him in but he said he had somewhere to be.
Marshall
"The press is fucking everywhere Em, they think you're fucking that blonde chick you were with the other day." Al grumbled flicking his cigar above his gold ashtray.
"Who Kim? No she's just a friend."
Al mumbled something under his breath along the lines of "go fix this" and I leaned back further into his leather reclining chair.
"Just stay away from her for a while alright? I don't need these nosey fuckers up my ass-or your ass-about some bitch you're not even with."
I nodded my head and got up to leave, saying goodbye to my cranky manager.
"Be ready for that show in Detroit, Em. It's your hometown you can't mess it up."
I whipped out my phone and texted Bec.
Hey. You Busy? M.
She texted back almost immediately.
You know I'm not, what's up?
I asked her if I could come over and she sent me the address to our old apartment.
God I missed this girl.
