"Becca I don't have a girl-"
First thing that came to mind was the girl I met while at the mall, and as we were talking paparazzi circled around us like a pack of wolves.
But I was angry.
I was angry that she thought I could just easily forget about her like that.
"Rebecca, how could you think for a second that I'd forget about you so easily?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe after a couple years of no calls, or any type of communication the thought seems to make sense." She said, an angry tone in her voice.
I honestly had nothing to defend myself, expect for the fact that I was busy as hell.
But I knew that didn't mean a thing to Rebecca, because I wouldn't be as busy and successful if it weren't for her.
"I'm sorry." I croaked, completely out of words.
"Sorry doesn't fix the many years of hell that you've put me through."
"Hell?" I questioned, confused as to what she was talking about.
"How else would you describe years of heartache from watching the one you love leave you to become someone better?" She asked.
"I don't know, Bec."
"Marshall?"
"Yes, Rebecca?"
"I miss you." She whispered.
"I miss you too."
I could hear her sniffle from the other line and I immediately knew she was crying.
"Rebecca, don't cry." I frowned, Rebecca had an effect on me. Whenever she cried I'd cry too.
"I'm not crying." She scoffed, and this made me smile a little because she was still the same old stubborn Rebecca.
"I've really missed you." She confessed.
Miss, doesn't begin to describe how I felt these past years.
"S-So how are you? How are things?" I stuttered, immediately feeling stupid.
What kind of question is that?
"I'm living, guess that's better than nothing. How are things with you?" She faked a laugh.
"What's wrong?" I asked quickly, ignoring her question.
The line was quiet for 2 minutes or so and then she sighed.
"I've just missed you a lot, Marshall."
