Archer
Artimis and I were really connecting. I was really comfortable around her already, even with how formal she could be a lot of the time. It actually reminded me a little of how Ayden could be at times. But she wasn’t so formal that it made anything awkward or anything like that. I could kind of play with her. She was just as easy to get along with
. Except for the fact that she was definitely the most beautiful person I had ever seen and way out of my league. Which makes me enjoy my time with her even more because I’m still waiting to wake up and have real life slap me right in the face and snap me out of this awesome dream. I try not to show it though. I just try to make it last as long as I can….
Synthia
I went into the kitchen to shove some breakfast down my throat and Ayden followed. We didn’t seem to know what to say to each other half the time. Ok, so it’s me that doesn’t know what to say. Hey, I’m not really a people person. And I’m definitely not used to any guys being into me. Much less any that looked like Ayden. Mostly we practiced me blocking my mind. But when he couldn’t hear any of my thoughts he would say good job or something.
Which, of course, would distract me because I love the sound of his voice. So far the only thing he can’t hear in my mind is my emotions. Which works for me. If only I could block my mind completely. And it would probably be better if he couldn’t read some of my emotions in my facial expressions. After eating some breakfast, we left the kitchen. Archer and Art were sitting on the couch, holding hands and talking. Ugh. Mush. I shudder to think what kind of embarrassingly lovey-dovey things they were saying to each other.
Then Ayden and Archer walked us each to our first classes, before going to their own. Archer held Art’s hand the whole way and her arm was linked tightly in mine as always. My other arm was draped formally through Ayden’s. Our first classes were right across the hall from each other. Which was good because we get a little panicky if we’re trapped in a small space too far from each other. Before leaving, Archer pulled Art into a close hug and kissed her cheek and she his. Ayden slipped his arm out from mine, grabbing my hand and kissing it.
I gave a small, nervous, awkward smile. He gave his pretty smile as he turned and walked away with his friend. Art and I paused at the separate doors. We turned and looked at each other across the hall. We each took a deep breath, turned our backs to one another and walked into the classrooms.
Artimis
Classes kind of flew by and Drama came quickly. It was surprising that my sister and I were put in an advanced drama class with as it turns out; Ayden and Archer. My sister and I walked arm in arm and I spotted Archer and Ayden sitting together. My sister and I walked up to them. My sister and I unlinked our arms and I sat next to Archer. His arm wrapped around my shoulder: it was so natural for me to be near him.
It didn’t hurt that he was extremely good looking and that kind of gave me satisfaction that he was mine. I could vaguely hear Syn and Ayden discussing something in low voices. For some reason I was getting uncomfortable and wound up. I stood up suddenly and glared at my sister who honestly didn’t even seem to notice me.
I went out the classroom door as the teacher walked in. I politely told my teacher that I needed some air. I walked out the front door, the cool air rushed on my skin and it felt good. I could feel Archer come outside. I turned and faced him, my eyes searching his face.
Ayden
By the time Drama rolled around, my nerves leveled out until Synthia walked into class. Then they skyrocketed again. She sat next to me. “Have you got control over your mind completely yet?” I asked in passing to mask my growing discomfort. Then, I saw Artimis stand up, looking slightly upset with her sister.
But Synthia didn’t notice her. She left the classroom and was unfazed by anything. That’s when Archer got up, concerned by her sudden exit. I looked back at Synthia. Her face betrayed her feelings of slight discontent.
