Losing my Ground

My head keeps on spinning. This headache was getting the best of me. I had a game to focus on, but I couldn't. My palm started to sweat as I tossed the ball toward the hoop, and I miss. "Jessica" "hmm?" "Are you okay?" "I'm good, I just need some water." I walk toward the locker rooms, coach would be here in 40 mins and the game is in 2 hours. What is wrong with me? I reach in my bag to see i've missed a few calls and text. I scroll, none from the person I wanted. He's supposed to be here. Something didn't sit well on my stomach, I lay on the bench and place a wet rag over my face. Focus Jess, you can do this. Theirs going to be some big names and colleges out there. I need a scholarship to get me out of here. Immediately.. [Boom] the sound of the gun echo's and I feel the bullet pierce my heart. I jump up, and place a hand on my chest I feel my heart beating fast. Its just a dream. I keep telling myself, but it feels so real. Reality, was setting in, and my nervousness wasn't going to get us to state. I'm the team captain, but lord I wasn't on my A-game and I defiantly didn't need coach in my ear about it. He wasn't hard on us, but he expected so much out of us. Ball was my life, next to track, and any other sport in could be in. I leave the locker room and head toward the nurses station to see if she could give me something to ease my headache pains. I sit and wait outside her office... "One more fuck up, Mr. Smith and you're out of here for the rest of the year." My eyes grew bigger at the sight of the person leaving the office. It was Carnell, what the hell was he doing in the principals office? I shift in my seat at this uncomfortable position I was put in. He looks at me, and drops his head. "Hey!!" "Not right now Jessica." He just keeps walking. The Nurse walks up and leads me into her room.
