Michael has always been considered a little different. He was teased throughout school about the way he was, being called weak, a nerd and a mummy's boy. Michael never did understand why, it's not like he was hurting anybody. He would never do that. He was just a nice, sweet and caring person.
Michael's mum did try to explain to him that not everyone is like him, but he just didn't get what she meant. Why is it awkward to do what he does? It's just a nice feeling for him. It's nice when people respond to it too. There was nothing better in Michael's opinion.
As Michael grew up the love he had for this weird 'trait' of his, grew too. It became so much more than an innocent gesture, something that he almost couldn't control sometimes. It had effected his relationships, his friendships and because he had no one to share his strange love with, his life too.
Michael has recently befriended someone at his new job, a girl. Her name was Peyton, and she was very intrigued by Michael. The way he would keep a distance from people, even if he was speaking to them. His hands always hidden under his long sleeves, no matter what.
Peyton really enjoyed Michael's company, and she really wanted to get to know him more. She never could have anticipated what would come of their friendship. She never could have known that Michael had this strange love but she didn't mind at all.
Michael never realised that he could be considered 'normal' by another person.
Peyton never realised that she could find a person that had a strange love to compliment her own.
Neither of them ever thought that their lives would feel complete.
And it all started with a feather.
