Normally, Sapphire didn't go to bars. In fact, she didn't like to drink at all, finding the taste to alcohol disgusting. However, tonight, Sapphire didn't care. She needed a break from the stress caused by her job, and even if the sharp, foul taste of whiskey disgusted her, she needed to clear her head. She sat in a tight, fancy royal blue dress, chugging down shots. Her hair was did in a bun, her bangs still covering her face. To her dismay, even with the shots she took, she didn't feel any sort of relief. She felt the same, and didnt wanna drink any more of the disgusting liquid. Sapphire took out some money and paid, and was ready to leave. Perhaps some reading could help her clear her mind if alcohol won't do the trick? She gets up from her heat but is stopped by a man, obviously drunk. He looks at her up and down and whistles.
"Daaaaaaaamn, girl, looking good," says the man, obviously oblivious to her disgusted expression.
Sapphire sighs, unimpressed.
"I'd like it if you left me alone, thank you," Sapphire tries to move pass him but is blocked by his hand, carressing her shoulder.
"What, can't take a compliment?" Says the man, grinning, "I know how to show you a good time." He hiccups.
Sapphire begins to feel uncomfortable, trying to move the man's hand away.
"Come by my place, baby, I'll show you how to have some real fun."
"No, I'd rather not...Let go, please" Sapphire shoves away from the man and tries to leave, but now he's got his hand on her hips. Sapphire is irritated and scared.
"No? Well you seem to be confused, how could you resist?"
His hands rubs her waist, and Sapphire keeps repeating "Stop" and "Leave me alone", afraid if he might force her to do anything she wouldn't want. The guy didn't care what she wanted; he only wanted dominance and pleasure.
Sapphire regretted coming to the bar. She could have been at home with her books, away from this man.
"HEY!" A voice yells, and the man stops for a minute to look at who called. Sapphire looks as well.
A woman about the same height as Sapphire was walking to them; she was muscular with shoulder length maroon hair, and seemed angry. The woman was glaring at the man, and before he could make up with a snarky innapropriate comment, she punches him in the face.
He let go of Sapphire, pushing her away and fell flace first to the ground, swearing. Sapphire stares at the woman in shock, as the woman leans to where the guy lay in pain, sending her foot straight to his face.
"She said no, so leave her alone." Said the woman. The guy tried to trip her but she was prepared, and kicked him in the gut.
The other people in the bar were watching, but didn't do anything but cheer for her. Sapphire was shocked.
Obviously defeated, the man got up and ran out of the bar. The woman looked at Sapphire, concerned.
"You alright? I'm Ruby, by the way," says Ruby, offering a hand to help Sapphire up.
"Thank you," says Sapphire, now standing, wiping dust off her dress, "I'm Sapphire."
"Would it be alright if I walk you home? I don't want you dealing with anymore assholes," asks Ruby, concerned. She was also blushing.
Sapphire nods.
"Yes, thank you. That's really nice of you," says Sapphire, smiling.
Ruby smiles and the two walk out of the bar, straight to Sapphire's place.
The walk there was fun, considering the two bonded well. They talked and laughed all the way home and even exchanged numbers, until finally, they reached Sapphire's appartment.
"Thank you so much for walking me," says Sapphire.
"No problem. You know, I had a lot of fun."
Sapphire blushes and kisses Ruby on the cheek, leaving Ruby in a vermillion faced shock. Ruby lets out a chuckle, embarrased but pleased.
"I'll give you a call, and we can meet again sometime," says Sapphire, "Good night."
Ruby waves and wishes her goodnight, watching the light haired formal girl walk up the stairs. Ruby couldn't look away.
