Jay pov:

"So.. you look all grown up Jay" Chloe's mom says to me smiling with her strong accent.

"yes, I've gone a bit taller and been in the gym" I smile while eating my slice of chicken.

The awful silence keeps long as everyone eats quietly.

Chloes dad breaks the silence clearing her throat "well, it's very nice seeing you all here" he smiles

"Feels like the old days" my mom laughs softly.

Me and Chloe haven't talked nor looked at eachother since we greeted eachother.

"So, I heard Jay and Billie are getting engaged" Chloe's mom says happily with a smile.

Chloe's face changed. She looked in disbelief. Hurt. "W-what" she said in a whisper voice

No one heard her but me

"Yes" I chuckle softly "congratulations! You two" Chloe's dad said

"Thanks sir" I said laughing softly. "We get married in 1 week" I smile while eating.

"I'm so proud of you guys!"

"Uhm.. I need to use the bathroom, excuse me." Her face looks uncomfortable and bothered.

She looks like she wants to cry.

I look at her as she walks off "oh, I forgot my phone in my room let me go grab it" I chuckle softly and smile at everyone

I follow Chloe to the bathroom

The door is slightly open. I open it, my heart beating fast.

"Hey.." I softly say

Chloe's looks to be crying. She's wiping her tears away with some tissue.

"Go away" she whispers out

"No.. I'm sorry Chloe"

She looks up at me "are you really gonna get married to her?!" She cry's out

"Yes I have to.. I'm sorry.."

"Jay.. I'm still in love with you.." she looks at me in the eye.

"You know we didn't work out.. you were to scared to tell your parents about us.." I tell her truthfully

"I know! I know!.. I just- can't.. it's hard.. I've been thinking about you for years.. wondering how you were doing.. if you ever still thought about me.. or even if you missed me" she cries out

"I-I'm sorry.. I- it's an arranged marriage.." I say softly..

She looks up sniffling "wdym?" "My mom forced me and Billie to get married.. she wanted me to help Billie become a better person.. I had no choice of saying no.. they threatened to ruin me if I said no.."

"So you don't.. like her.." she says softly.. "I look down playing with my fingers "well.. idk.." I sigh

"You know.. I really wanted it to be you.. you were the love of my life." She stares me in the eye

I look down breaking eye contact "I know! And I do too.. but shi happens and you have to understand we are no longer together.. and that's because of you Chloe."

"I know.. sometimes I wish we could just run away Jay.. run away forever" she laugh softly

I chuckle "I know but that's in the past.. Chloe you have to understand we can't be together because of Billie and my mom.. and especially your parents"

"Well. I'm gonna go back.. so make sure you don't look like you were crying.. okay?"

"Okay.."

I walk out the bathroom sighing. I walk to the dinner table and everyone seems to be laughing.

There's liquor on the table and my mom and her parents are taking shots.

I sit down and Billie looks at me. She stands up and whispers in my ear "follow me" she sounds mad..

I get up and follow her. She leads me to our room.

She locks the door "so what the fuck is going on with you and that bitch of a girl?" She says angrily

"What the duck do you mean?"

"And she's not a bitch" I say remarking her words

"I saw you follow her into the bathroom!"

"And so what if I did! Why do you care Billie..?!" I get in her face

She looks down "I- because.. I like you okay!" She covers her mouth fast.

"For how long??" "Idk.."

"I like you too billie" I smile softly. She looks up at me and smiles "really!"

"Yes" I laugh "idk I'm sorry Jay I'm just idk- how to express feelings towards people I really like.. it's hard for me seriously."

"Me too.. don't worry" I chuckle

"We should go out now they probably wondering where we at"

We head out the room and go back to the kitchen table. My mom and her parents are talking and laughing having fun. I see Chloe sitting down on her phone.

Chloe looks at me and Billie and frowns.

Me and Billie sit down.

My mom and Chloe's parents are drunk asl ngl

They slurring there words and stuff

"Hey, yall are more then welcome to stay" my mom smiles "I don't think you guys could drive in the state your in" they all laugh

"Well, yes thank you very much." Her mom smiles

"Okay, well you guys can sleep on the couch" my mom smiles at them

"Okay!!! Thanks"

"No problem"

That means Chloe is also staying

"And Chloe.. you could sleep in jays room with Jay.. seems like you guys have a lot of catching up to do considering yall close friendship" my mom smiles Okay

"Uhm.. s-sure" Chloe stutters out. Billie looks bothered "and Billie could sleep on the couch as well" my mom smiles at Billie

"Uhh yeah sure" she says dryly
