Once the painting had finished drying, Eva hung it on the wall. She smiled at the painted picture of her sister, and she knew that Than would be proud if she could see how much more she'd improved at painting over the years.
Her father walked into the room, and looked over to where his daughter was standing. His eyes looked over the painting, he frowned and said, "Take it down."
"No, it's my room, I can do what ever I want in it!"
"This is my house, and you will take it down."
Eva glared at her father, and responded angrily, "I'm not taking it down."
"Then get out of my house. I will not have anything to do with that girl in my home!"
Sighing, Eva gave in and took the painting down, she slowly handed it to her father. He in return placed it on the floor and kicked a hole into the middle of it, ripping a hole through the painted version of his oldest daughter.
"There, now there isn't any more disobedient girls," he said quietly, but sternly.
Eva remained silent, but anger and hate seethed evidently in her eyes. Her father ignored it and continued to talk, "Anyways. I came down here to let you know that you are grounded."
"What do you mean grounded?"
"You're grounded to your room, you can not leave your room without being with your mother or I."
"You can't do that!"
"You'll see that I can if you try to leave," he answered, turning, leaving the room, and locking the door behind him.
Sadly, Eva looked down at the painting that her father had kicked. It had one main rip through the middle of it, and a few smaller ones branching off of it. If the paint hadn't been dry, the damage would have been a lot worse, but with a dry painting, Eva could fix it. She picked up the canvas, and turned it over. Carefully, she began to tape it together. It took several minutes, but finally the picture was restored to somewhat it's original glory. Eva placed it onto her wall once again, and collapsed into a nearby chair.
A thought came to Eva as she perked up, her father hadn't taken away her cell phone! She practically leaped with joy as she reached to grab her phone. Dialing her best friend's number, Eva hoped with all her might that Amynta would answer.
"Hello? ...Eva?"
"Amynta! I'm so glad you answered, look you gotta help me. I'm locked in my room, and they won't let me out. And, you've gotta bring me some food... I haven't eaten anything all day," she added as her stomach growled.
"Uhh, yeah, you want me to break into your house, sneak into your room, and smuggle you food, just because you broke your father's rules again? What if your parents catch me, both of them can't stand me!"
"Well don't get caught then, come on Amynta, please?"
"Eva, why would I go through all of this trouble just for you... I mean, you are asking a lot out of me right now," she responded, sighing loudly.
"Oh please, you love me. You'd do anything I asked of you."
"That's not true, I wouldn't go to that place if you asked me."
"Yeah, okay, whatever. Come on, bring me some food!"
"Fine, I'm in. I'll be there in ten," Amynta answered after a few minutes of being silent.
The call went dead as Amynta hung up, and Eva found herself extremely bored. She paced across her room, looked through my closet for an outfit I could wear to the Edge - the clothes I wore usually were dirty, and resorted to mindlessly playing some puzzle game on my phone.
