Of Vampires and Werewolves

Graysen

Tonight. Tonight at 8. Graysen couldn't beleive it, she actually had a date with Josh Lebaton. She was in the mall shopping for the perfect outfit, and money obviously wasn't a problem. She was trying to find something not too dressy and formal, but doesn't make her look like a bum. She had to look amazing, it was her victory over "dog girl". After all Graysen got Josh and Nani got nothing. Or so she thought.
After hours of looking around and trying on hundreds of outfits, she found the perfect one. A gray shirt with some black skinny jeans, and combat boots. She thought it was a bit too casual, but with her figure, she could make a trash bag look at least semi-formal. She walked out of the store with enough clothes to last a month. She had decided to buy all the clothes she tried on, even the hideous ones. The old Graysen would be in her room sulking about how she wished she weren't rich so she could have real friends. Well, the new Graysen knows it's lonley at the top, but she knows she can get whatever she wants at the snap of her fingers and the swipe of her credit card.
When she returned home she headed straight to her sisters room, she a had bought her some clothes. Graysen and her sister were best friends. Partially because Graysen didn't have any others. She gave here sister the clothes and told her all about Josh.
"Wow, Gracie you've got a lot going on", Kristen said.
"Yeah, but enough about me. What's up with you?", Graysen asked. She loved her sister, with her oblivious parents and Graysen's lack of real friends, Kristen was all she had.
"Well, nothing much. I have science fair coming up.......still waiting to be 16.", Kristen made a fake sigh. "But you could help me, Gracie. Just turn ne into a vampire already!". Kristen was a tad bit impatient.
"You know how mom and dad feel about that Kris.", Graysen said in her older sister voice.
"Since when do either of us care abour what mom and dad say! Since when do they care about us!", Kristen said with her voice cracking, face red, and close to tears. Graysen scooted closer and held her.
"They never have and never will, but somethings you just have to live with. And I don't want you to be in a 7 year old's body for the rest of eternity, but when you're 16, I'll turn you. I promise.", Graysen said softley, still embracing her sister.
"I love you Graysen", Kristen wispered.
"I love you too. You're everything to me.", Graysen whispered back. They stayed there like that for a while until finally Kristen said,
"Come on you have to get ready for your date!". The girls rushed off and got Graysen dressed in her outfit, Kristen did her hair. And as Graysen was putting on her shoes, the doorbell rang. Kristen answered it, while Graysen was still upstairs.
"You better be good to her or so help me I will......", Kristen started before Graysen came down stairs.
"Nice to meet Mr. Josh", Kristen said in her sweet little girl voice.
"Hey Josh, ready to go", Graysen asked before the situation escalated.
"Yeah, and nice to meet you Kristen", Josh said in a tone that meant, I promise not to hurt her. Kristen picked up on it and made a face that said, you better not.
"Bye, Kris",Graysen called as thet walked out. She was concentrating on not reading Josh's thoughts, if they were going out now she had to respect his privacy.
When they got to the movies Josh paid for the tickets, got popcorn and candy, then the took their seats in the theater. They were seeing Ant-man. About half way through the movie, Graysen couldn't help herself. She began to read Josh's thoughts, she wanted know if he was having a good time with her.
'Graysen....cool.....good movie.....hot......'
'More bold......than before.......has nice attitude', Josh thought.
'Nani.....tommorow night.....same theater.....same time......same movie', Josh continued in his head.
'Won't find out that_____', Josh was thinking before Graysen stopped listening. It can't be true, no it can't be. Josh is not cheating on me with dog girl! She didn't want to believe it or think about it anymore so she just slipped her hand into Josh's and watched the rest of the movie in thought silence.
When the movie was over, Josh drove Graysen home.
"I had a really good time tonight......a really good time with you", Josh said while they were on Graysen's front porch. Which was bigger than two busses lined up.
"So did I",Graysen lied convincingly.
"Well, bye. See you at school tomorrow.", Josh said. Then Graysen gave him an insincere kiss on the cheek.
As Graysen lay in bed wide awake she couldn't shake the thought that Josh was cheating on her with Nani. She tried to tell her self that human thoughts were sometimes random and that the thoughts about Nani were probably his subconscious getting over old feelings, but she just had this doubt. The only way to find out was to go to the movies tomorrow night. She still couldn't sleep. So she lay awake for hours waiting for the quiet darkness of sleep to take over. Then finally at 3 am it did.
When Graysen woke up she was oddly excited. She was still convinced that Josh wasn't cheating, so she was happy to go to the movies and find that Josh wasn't there with Nani and she would prove her self right. But in the deep recesses of her mind she knew that Josh and Nani would be there together. She ignored that and got dressed. Then she went to school.
When third period came Graysen was excited to see Josh. She walked up to him.
"Hey, stranger.", she said in a flirty tone.
"Hi, um last night was fun we should do it again sometime.", Josh said blushing.
"Perhaps we should.", Graysen replied as Mr. Tebron walked in. They rushed to their seats an class began just as Nani walked in. She gave Josh a flirty smile then walked to her seat Graysen snapped her pencil. Thats my man dog girl, you can't have any, Graysen thought.
When school was over Graysen didn't bother stalking Josh today, she raced home and prepared for her "date" at the movies. She was sure she was gonna show up and the two wouldn't be their, but there was still that doubt floating around, ruining her day. She began to get ready she decided to wear black so the two couldn't see her, if they were there which Graysen tried to convince her self they weren't.
When 8 o'clock finally rolled around, she got in her car, one of the newest gifts her dad gave her to get her to keep quiet about his many afairs, and took the long way to the movies. She took the long way to make sure she got there after Nani and Josh, you know on off chance they'd actually be there. She got there at about 8:05. She noticed she didnt't see Josh's truck in the parking lot, she felt a tiny glimmer of hope. She got out and stepped into the chilly night air. She nade her way to the door, paid for a ticket and slipped into theater 12. She sat there and looked around for a while and didn't see them anywhere. Just as she had begun to let her guard down she saw them walk into the theater and sit in the same spot Graysen and Josh had sat in the night before. She felt her heart shatter into a million.....wait recount.......a billion pieces. It started as a dull throbbing, but as her brain slowly came to terms with the fact that her dream boy had cheated on her it got worse and worse. By the middle of the movie it felt like fire in her chest. Burning, red hot flames engulfing the tiny pieces of her heart and eventually turning them to ash. Once there was no more heart left the fire turned from heart ache pain to furious rage. You don't cheat on me and get away with it. Any last words Josh........?
