(4) Snow

I woke to the sound of my cell phone going off. I opened my eyes and grabbed it knowing it was Robert. I answered it he told me that the truck was ready. I told him I would be on my way shortly then I hung up and looked at what time it was. It was 11:00 am. I stretched and tossed back the covers so I could get up and call Richard.

Riley and Gunner was already up when I went to get a cup of coffee. I looked at Riley when I fully came to I couldn't help but to shake my head she looked different, she had make-up on, not a lot but she had it on, while wearing her famous Billy Idol tank top on and straight legged light blue denim jean's with neon pink lace tights underneath to cover the exposed skin. I was surprised that she wasn't in her ponytail or pigtails she had her long brunette hair straightened and was wearing her flat black tie up knee high moccasins.

Riley had Gunner fed and dressed as well. I loved having her with me she made my life a little easier.

"Are you gonna get dress?" Riley asked looking at me from he brim of her coffee cup.

"Yeah, I just had to get a good look at you." I said smiling at her.

"OMG, why?" Riley asked cocking her brow at me.

"Cause you look different...could someone be the reason?" I asked as Riley looked down as I knew it was.

"I know it's a lost cause but he makes me feel beautiful...I can't help it." Riley said looking at me from her long bangs.

"You never know babe." I said knowing it was a bad idea to try to keep her hopes up on Norman but I hated to see her not happy. "Hell I need to get dressed we have a lot to do today." I said taking my coffee cup to my room and tried to find something to wear.

I found a pair of jeans, white turtle neck and my black duster and boots since I'll have to go to my in-laws to take a truck load of horse feed when I got my truck. After I got dressed I called Richard to let him know my truck was for real this time ready for me to pick up. He said he would be on his way with a laugh in his voice which killed me. I closed my eyes to shake the hurt from my heart.

Richard showed up in the wrong outfit, black dress pants, white long sleeve button up shirt and a trench coat, but then he didn't have to go with me to my in-laws.

"Something tells me I'm over dressed." Richard said as he entered our two bedroom apartment on the side of a small country store. He kissed my cheek, I laughed and shook my head.

"Your fine doll, but I do have to stop at the town and country for some horse feed." I said grabbing my bag.

"You love are just trying to be nice, but horse feed?" Richard asked as he picked up Gunner.

"Yeah, I bet you didn't know Elise use to own a 43 acre ranch with 10 of the finest horses, now she only owns 5." Riley said as she turned her attention to me now. "Oh and Elise I forgot to tell you Shawn called to tell you Jaz had her colt." She added.

"No, can't say I knew she owned a ranch." Richard said.

"Long story...one for a rainy day at that." I said as Richard gave Gunner a piggy back ride as we left.

***Auto Shop***

"Richard...Right?" Chris asked handing me my keys.

"Yes." Richard said as I handed Chris a check for $472.00.

I left so Chris and Richard to talk and introduce each other. I found my Silver and black Ford Rapture, and used the step-up ladder to get in. I noticed Richard started to laugh.

"What, never seen a short woman drive a truck before?" I asked laughing.

"Nope, but it's kinda sexy." Richard said.
