-Swedish horse mafia don't you worry child

*Averys POV*

"Honey I want to stay too but we cant. We have to be out of the house today. Don't worry your mom will stay here with him," my dad said trying to get me out of the hospital room. Staying up all night with Cam really took its toll on him, the giant bruise like bags under his eyes, the wrinkles on his forehead more prominent, all adding together to make him look twice his age. Not that I should be talking with my birds nest hair and matching bags I look just as bad as the rest of my family.

After we got here last night the doctors informed us that he is in a comatose state and there's no way to know when he'll wake up.

"Fine I'll be in the car," I mumble heading out to my parents green charger.

__

Ryan and my aunts and uncles had been getting all our things into the van since 6:00 am. They had everything packed up by the time we got there. As soon as I am out of the car I'm engulfed into a giant hug from my aunt Charis.

"I'm so sorry, are you ok? " she pulls away to look at my face before continuing," Are you excited to move? I can't believe you guys won the championship. Too bad that Cam had to get injured," for some reason that last part rubbed me the wrong way.

"Had to happen," I screech at her causing everyone to stop and stare. Her eyes widen until they're as large as saucers.

" Why in the world do you think it had to happen, it happened because some idiot screwed up," I finish tears streaming down my face. An awkward silence followed everyone taking in my words I start turning but am stopped by a voice.

"Your right,"

"What?" I question turning to him.

"Your right ," my dad repeats, "And that person is you,"

"What? How do you figure, I wasn't even on the floor," I ask in shock. How could he even blame me I had nothing to do with it.

"Exactly you didn't listen to the coach and got off before you should have." He shouts scornfully," It wouldn't have even happened if you were normal."

My dad has never yelled at me like that before.

"Normal? What the heck is normal? How am I abnormal?" So I play lacrosse that's still normal.

Glancing around I see we're making a scene and even the neighbours are coming out to see the crazy people yelling at each other at 7 o'clock in the morning. Deciding not to give them anything exciting to see I pinch the bridge of my nose to calm down and swivel on my heel. Before even getting a foot away a strong hand grasps my arm and turns me back around.

"You don't turn away from me when I'm talking to you," he screams his face only inches away from mine. I gasp and swallow back a sob as his hand comes around and slaps the side of my face. Rubbing the red skin I look up to see the previously angry man calm and almost sorry looking, almost.

Sending one last glare in his direction I hop into the passenger seat of one of the vans. A few minutes later Ryan hops in beside me.

" So," I begin only to burst into another round of tears. His arms wrap around me comfortingly. Moments later he pulls back looking me in the eyes.

"You know it's not your fault right?" He asks concern in his deep blue eyes. I turn away from him successfully hiding my face from him.

"But it is, I'm part of the power play line yet I got off during a power play." I half whisper half shout still not looking at him. I hear him sigh before he starts the van and backs out of the driveway.

We didn't say anything the entire way except me giving him directions to our new house. The two story farm house now stands before me.

"You ready?" Ryan asks me as I get in position ready to sprint to the room with the balcony.

" Only if your ready to lose," I reply smiling like a maniac.

"Ready, set," my aunt starts in her loud voice, "Go!"

We're off in a flash running as fast as I can I bound up the stairs feeling like a little kid again.

"Danggit," I mutter between gasps after entering Ryan's new room. Heading back downstairs I find everybody is waiting to see who won our childish little race. I scowl at them and they all laugh at my expense.

"This might be a good time to tell you there's a balcony at the back of the house," my uncle informs me between fits of laughter.

I glare at him,"seriously so I didn't need to burst a lung to get to that room," I nearly shout. Remembering the room I shoot up the stairs only to trip over the top step and land face first on the hard wood. " Ow mother," I scream loud holding my hand up to my nose.

"What the heck," Ryan says coming out of his room before seeing me on the ground holding my bloody nose. "Of course you are the one to fall on the stairs an hour after getting here." He says chuckling.

Glaring daggers at him I proudly say,"I didn't fall I was just getting to know the floor since we're gonna be spending a lot of time together." I get up from my crumpled position trying to remember why I came up here in the first place.

"Oh right my room," I say excitedly. Walking to the room at the back of the house I feel Ryan following close behind and take advantage of that. Quickly sticking my foot out behind me kicking him in the shin, missing its mark but still connecting with flesh.

He howled in pain,"Jeez what was that for?" I just shrug my shoulders and open the door to my room.

The first thing my brain registers is how open the room is seeming way larger than it is because of the way the light from the sliding glass doors that leads out to the balcony reflected off the glitter painted walls. there is no light but strings of little lights hanging from the ceiling on one side of the room on the other the was a mirror covering the door to my closet.

"Wow," I whisper shell shocked. The room is perfect and gives me a nice view of the fields in the back.

"Holy cow, your rooms way better than mine," Ryan says from behind me startling me back into reality.

"You want it," I tease him.

"Yep bye-bye now" he starts playfully pushing me out of my room.

"Too bad its mine," I tell him crossing my arms and stubbornly sticking out my chin. Turning I head down the stairs to start unpacking everything.
