"Thank you Los Angeles!" I smiled, waving to the crowd. My fans all cheered.
"Elle Heart! We love you!"
"Elle, marry me!"
"Elle! Elle! Elle!"
I blew my fans a kiss as I gracefully exited the stage, closing out the last show of my World Tour. My manager, Kim, gave handed me a water bottle as she rushed me to my dressing room.
"Ellie, honey, we need to be quick here. We have to be at the set of the Late Night Show in twenty minutes," She spoke, opening the door for me. She whipped out her phone and started texting someone. "Please, hurry. We don't have all the time in the world you know."
I closed the door and let out an exasperated huff. Kim really stressed me out sometimes, especially when I had a brief amount of time between appearances. I changed into my designated outfit, grabbed my bag, and headed out to where Kim was waiting with the chauffeur of the night.
"Nice hustle, hon. Now, we gotta get going, or else Seth won't let us get an interview!" She said, ushering me out the door. I was greeted by the familiar sight of camera flashes, news reporters, and squealing fans. I waved to a few of the fans, thankful that I was wearing a cute outfit; I was honestly thinking of wearing my sweats to the Late Night show.
I hopped into the limo that was waiting at the curb, and served myself a glass of the complimentary sparkling apple juice. I never developed a taste for anything alcoholic, which was a relief for my mother. Back in North Carolina, I couldn't go anywhere due to her fear of me dying in a car accident while I was drunk driving. Then again, I was probably the only twenty-three year old in the country who didn't like going to alcohol-fueled parties. Figures.
After a while, we made it to the set, where I was rushed to the Hair and Makeup Department. The stylists there gave me a once over, then took apart my messy bun and wiped off my makeup. They made rude remarks about too much hairspray and low quality bobby pins, so I decided on thinking about my four-month tour break. I'd finally be able to return back home after being on the road for six years, and I was extremely excited. I was especially excited about seeing my younger sister, Natalie.
"Okay, honey, you're done now. Go see wardrobe and get your microphone over there," The makeup artist, Celine, said. The hair stylist, Bruno, smiled to himself as he nodded at his work. My hair had been curled, falling in chesnut ringlets around my shoulders, and my makeup went from flashy to natural. Even I was surprised at the change. I walked over to wardrobe and changed into a royal blue dress, and I met up with Kim as I got a microphone check.
"Oh, Elle, you look gorgeous!" She spoke, turning me around. I blushed, and adjusted the strap of the dress.
"Thanks Kim," I said, looking in the mirror. Wow, I thought to myself. I really did look pretty.
"Two minutes until we go live!" a producer called. I heard the audience file in, and I felt my hands start to shake. I had never been good with interviews, and I felt more pressured with this one. It would be my last public appearance for four whole months. I was nervous I'd mess up and have my whole fanbase come crashing down.
I heard Seth Meyers' familiar voice announcing the start of the show, and I slowly began chilling myself out. It was only a few minutes until I was called into the wings.
"Good luck, Elle!" Kim said from behind me, giving me a thumbs up. Before I knew it, I was walking onstage and flashing everyone a big, Elle Heart smile.
"Everyone welcome Elle Heart!" Seth announced. I sat in the soft leather chair next to Seth's desk, and settled in.
"Heyo, Seth." I awkwardly shrugged. The crowd roared with laughter, as did Seth.
