Apple

Vibrant
Shiny
So full of color and life
The perfect creation of being
A gem set apart from the rest
Like a lovely apple
Ripe
Shimmering green
Completely flawless
On the highest branch
Just out of reach
To far to grab
Helpless
As fragile as the stem that holds it
Threatened by the smallest breeze
It wiggled
The ground so far below
A fall could mean the end
End of it all
Of life
Of existence
A fall could be...
And a snap
The almost silent breaking
Like a leaf in the wind
Hardly noticed
Until the apple hits a branch
It quivers slightly
But is unaffected
The delicate creation tumbles
Bumbles
And bruises on contact
Branch after branch
Until it's caught by the earth
A miserable mess
Squished and broken
Decays
Desicates
Seeds rot into the earth
Green emmerges
A leaf
A tree
And an apple
So perfectly placed at the top.
