I open my eyes to see what was written. Damiano Marano, wanted for illegal drug smuggling and attempted murder. I scroll down to see a picture of my mother. I click on it to see that she's wanted for helping my dad with his drug business and for helping him to carry out the attempted murder.
"I can't believe this. My own parents who I thought that I could trust and keep me safe are wanted for illegal drug smuggling and trying to end someone's life." I cover my face with my hands and let out a few tears.
I feel a pair of arms wrap around me and pull me towards them. I hug his torso as he rubs my back, trying to calm me down. I start sobbing while Ross sits there listening to me ranting about my parents being criminals.
"You done?" Ross asks after I quieten down.
I stand up before replying, "Yeah but we aren't going to tell them what we know."
"But what if they have a good reason? What if they're like being forced to do this?" He stands up, towering over me.
I raise my eyebrows up at him. Why is he so stupid? "Ross, why would they be forced to do this unless they did something bad.
"True. Fine we won't tell them but Laura" he pauses for a second before finishing his sentence, "the people that your parents work with are going to be very dangerous. Are you willing to put your life in danger for something like this?" He asks, worry lining every word that came out his mouth.
"Definitely. If I ask them about it they'll never tell me the truth. They'll just make up some lie that I'll hopefully believe. I really need to know what's happening and I won't find that out if I tell my parents all about their dirty, little secret." I look at Ross, waiting for his response.
"Just be careful. I really care about you Laura." He slowly raises his hand and caresses my cheek.
I stare into his eyes.
"Hey Ross, mum says t-" the person stops talking. We snap out of our trance and turn to see who it was.
"Uh, Rydel what do you want?" He scratches the back of his neck. His face turns scarlet as his sister stands their with an amused look.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt but mum told me to call you for dinner." She then turns around to leave but not before flashing us both a smirk.
Gosh, why do people always interrupt? Not like anything was going to happen, right? You said that last time but something definitely was going to happen then. Oh, shut up Laura and stop talking to yourself.
"So, let's go then." He walks out the room and I follow behind him.
We reach the dining room and I reach out my hand to open the door but Ross grabs my wrist and turns me to face him, "Ready for interrogating time with the Lynch's?" He grins at me.
"What are we waiting for?" I let out a laugh and Ross opens the door leading me into the dining room.
"Ross and his girlfriend are here!" Rocky screams.
"Rocky!" Stormie swats him on the head with her hand. I giggle as Rocky sits there with a pout.
"Laura, sit by me." They all shout at once. What is it with them saying stuff at the same time?
"Come sit by me." Ross pulls me towards a seat and then sits on the one beside me.
"Laura, it's great to have you join us for dinner." Stormie says as she places some spaghetti on my plate.
"It's my pleasure. Thank you for inviting me."
"No problem. You're always welcome here." She stops serving for a second, smiling at me then carries on.
