ALICE POV

17 years ago..

(FLASHBACK)

Hello! Ako nga po pala si Alice Palma! I'm 5 years old and I'm the loving daughter of Danica and Art Palma. =)) Aalis pala kami ngayon nina Mommy and Daddy, sabi nila we'll go to Hong Kong! On the way na nga kami sa airport eh. >3<

"Daddy! Am I going to see Mickey Mouse?"

"Yes princess, Haha di ka man masyadong excited no?"

"Daddy excited na excited naa! I'm going to hug Belle, Ariel and Cinderella!"

"Haha, konting tiis na lang baby nandun na nyan tayo."

"Yehey! I'll keep quiet na, I'll not bother you anymore."

Ilang minutes palang biglang nahirapan nang huminga si Daddy at pagewang gewang na ang kotse.

"Art! Just hold on."

"Daddy, Mommy, I'm so scared!"

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECH!

"Mommy, my head hurts.."

But when I opened my eyes, I saw Mommy and Daddy unconscious and they had blood all over their body. I heard sirens and people yelling before I lost my consciousness too..

When I opened my eyes once again, I knew I was in the hospital.

"Okay ka na ba?"

"I'm okay Ms. Nurse, but where is my Mommy and Daddy?"

"I'm sorry darling but they're gone."

"No, you are just joking right?"

She shook her head.

"Nooooo! Mommy and Daddy are still alive! They are not dead! You are just lying!"

"Sorry darling.."

When the nurse left, I kept on crying and crying 'til the day of their funeral and I promised that I'll be strong.

Yes I'm now an orphan but Mommy and Daddy left a last will and testament having my name under their properties but because I am still a child, I would be living at my aunt Mary's house.

At Aunt Mary's house..

"Alice, feel at home and don't be shy and try to mingle with the other kids okay?"

"Okay Tita."

When I went outside, I saw children playing and somehow I felt happy. I went to the subdivision's playground and sat on the swing. I saw a kid at my age walking towards me.

"Hello! Ako si Nigel Mercado, pwede ka bang maging kaibigan?"

"Hello.. Sure naman.." 

"Ano pangalan mo bata?"

"Alice, Alice Palma."

"Bakit ka pala umiiyak?"

"Kase walana yung parents ko eh.."

"Ay, sorry sana di ko na tinanong."

"Okay lang.."

Silence

"Basta ako, hinding-hindi kita iiwan, lagi akong nasa tabi mo para di ka na malungkot! Tara laro tayo! Papakilala kita sa mga kaibigan ko!"

"Sige!"

"Mga pre, eto nga pala si Alice, siya yung bago nating kalaro!"

 "Hello!"

"Hello din. :)"

Simula nun, hindi na ako naging malungkot kase laging nasa tabi ko si Nigel hanggang sa isang araw..

"Alice, aalis kami papuntang Amerika sorry ngayon ko lang nasabi kasi natatakot akong layuan mo ako.."

"Ang daya daya mo, iiwan mo ako.."

"Babalikan kita at ipinapangako ko sayong pagbalik ko, papakasalan kita at magiging masaya tayo."

"Promise yan ha?"

"Oo."

"Pinky promise muna tayo."

"Osige. "

"Ayan! Ingat ka dun ha?"

"Ikaw din, mamimiss kita ng sobra."

"Wag ka na nga baka maiyak pa ko eh."

"Sige alis na ako tinatawag na ako ni Mommy."

"Babay..."

"Babay.."

PRESENT

Yeah, that was 17 years ago.. Ganun katagal. Hinihintay ko pa rin siya. And I'm holding on to his promise.
