Chapter 12 Are we good?

ALICE POV

*click, click*

I'm starting to regret this. There are flashes of cameras every second and my privacy got invaded! The paparazzis know every single thing about me. They are all creeping me out!!

"I can't believe this bullshit."

"You have no one else to blame sweetheart, it's all your choice from the very beginning." a familiar voice said.

"Well apparently, it's not my fault! It's all YOUR fault!" I proudly accused him.

"And why is that?" he asked preventing a chuckle escaping from his filthy mouth.

"Because you are an actor and I got trapped in this stupid contract because of you!"

"Darling, don't you think it's a blessing in disguise?" he smugly asked.

My furrowed my eyebrows.

I opened my mouth to say something but no words came out. It's no use fighting him, I never win in all our arguments.

I sighed in defeat.

I can't believe this man. He is a conceited and an arrogant bastard!

Blessing in disguise my ass.

He stared at me in amusement.

"I like seeing your feisty side Alice." and once again he flashed his signature smirk.

I blushed uncontrollably. Blushing is inevitable especially in these kind of awkward situations..

His eyes softened for a bit and then he again flashed me a smug smile.

"You are affected by my charm Alice, don't dare deny it." And he turned around to leave the room.

Oh how would I love to rip this man into pieces. And the burial songs will be music to my ears.

JOHN SY POV

I would make things clear for the saje of those people who are puzzled by my mysterious character, I don't hate Alice. I just love pissing her off just to see her blush like that. This may sound cheesy but I love seeing her vulnerable side.

She may appear strong and one hell of a fighter but I know deep inside she's still a very emotional girl. I took the contract as an opportunity to get to know Alice more.. I became curious of the girl Nigel likes..

Nigel was my bestfriend. I'm giving emphasis on the word was okay?

We were once buddies but when he stole my first love from me he automatically became my enemy.. He thinks we are still friends but I just hid this anger for the sake of my reputation and career..

Nigel's stepdad is the one who referred me to Mr. D. so I acted as if we were still friends. I'm not that bad you know, I'm just good at pretending that's why I am a phenomenal actor. I also know how to repay a good deed after all, Nigel's stepdad is the one to thank without him, I am a nobody.

"John?" Mr. D called as he opened the door.

"Yes? Is there any problem?" I nervously asked.

"Yes there is. Julia is asking me to break the contract!!"

"WHAT?!!" I automatically burst out from my room.

What the hell? What does she think she's doing? She signed the papers so there's no backing out now.

And there's this tiny part of me which really wants Alice to stay because I really want to be a part of her life.. Ugh? What the fuck did I just say?! I literally just want to throw up. 😑

ALICE POV

I fidgeted my fingers as I nervously waited for Mr. D and John's arrival.

BOOGSH

The door burst open and it revealed a furious John. Oh no! 😰

Well a furious John is also a hot John.

"What?" he asked in disbelief.

I panicked and blushed.

"Did I say it aloud?" I nervously coughed.

He stared at me like a creepy lunatic and burst out of laughter.

"Eh?" I asked, puzzled.

"So you think I'm hot? Oh enough of that, that was not the reason why we are here! This dashing and charming John is really mad at you."

I rolled my eyes. Conceited bastard.

Um back to reality. I sighed.

"About the contract, I um kinda wanna back out?"

"Are you out of your mind?! You JUST signed it minutes ago if you are having second thoughts, you shoudn't have signed it in the first place! Backing out in an contract has its consequences, you need to pay a fine which is P3,000,000 and then you have to consult a lawyer on the other conditions the company will give."

I gulped. P3,000,000 just for that stupid contract?! I fisted my hair in frustration.

"There's one thing I'm curious about.." John seriously said.

"...why do you want to back out Alice?"

"Because I can't stand a jerk like you!" I blurted out. Oops..

His eyes narrowed for a while then he sighed in defeat.

"I'm sorry Alice, I really want this to work out.. May we start all over again?" he gave me a genuine smile.

I gasped in shock. It's the first time he smiled like that. If he does that everyday, I wouldn't mind continuing the contract. I bit my tongue to stop thinking more unimaginable things.

He reached out his hand to me obviously asking for an answer.

*bzzt, bzzt*

I checked my phone and I gave a signal to John. I mouthed "I'll be back in a minute."

I sprinted my way to the restroom and clicked the accept button.

"Alice? Can we talk?"

"Nigel, I told you to stop bugging me--"

"Please.." his voice broke.

There must be something up but whom will I go to? Nigel or John?
