The next morning, I get a text from Ian as soon as I get to my locker.

I'll pick you up from school today, Berchetto's it is again. Vance is definitely playing again tonight.

I sighed out of disappointment and walked into math as soon as Mr. Falkland began to start class.
"Good morning class, today we will begin to prepare for the test that I have set for Wednesday,"
The entire group of students moaned, as always.
"Though, it will be a partner experiment. As you all know, I have never admitted you to have partners for anything during this period because I despise the idea of partners; but, I was feeling a bit risky this morning, so we are going to do a trial run. You will be assigned a partner to study with on your own time and to take the test with on Wednesday."

Oh god. Watch me get put with Jack Williams, the kid who doesn't do anything.

Mr. Falkland began to call partners and of course, I was put with Jack Williams. Everyone met up with their partners and I realized that Jack was absent... so, I walked up to Mr. Falkland's desk and told him my partner was absent.

"Well..." He looked behind me. "Christian doesn't have a partner. Christian, meet Alex."

I whipped my head around to find Christian Akridge, the boy who looked into my eyes last night.

I followed him over to his desk and sat down, immediately starting plans for a study session.

"So, is tonight good for you?"

He nodded. "You can come to my place, if you want,"

I gulped. "Sure, okay, just text me the address and time after school." He awkwardly handed me his phone so I could put my contact in.. "So, are you new here?"

"Yeah," he responded. "Three days ago I moved in on Trenton Street,"

"Oh my god, cool! That's walking distance from where I live. Only a few blocks away."

"Awesome," he smiled, and looked up at me. The bell rang.

"I'll see you later." I picked up my belongings, placed down his phone, and hurried to my next class without looking back.

After school, I exited out the back door, where Ian always picks me up if he's taking me somewhere after. I saw his Mercedes in it's regular spot and jogged over to it, trying to get my hair out of my face as the wind blew it all over, making my bun even messier.

"Get in babe," Ian said.

"Can't,"

"Get in."

"I can't. I have a study session tonight and I don't know what time. He has to text me the details later."

"He?"

"Yeah. Bye." I replied, turned around, and began to walk home.
About halfway there, my phone vibrated in my hand.
