The Rules of a Gentleman

Three

“I'm dressing up why?” Oliver asked suspiciously, eyeing Logan. “I think I deserve to go shirtless and pig out on chips and chicken wings while watch reruns of the game after I get accused of cheating, Logan.”

Logan rolled his eyes, shaking his head. “You're being too dramatic. I was going to get Alexander to go with me because I thought that you’d still be together by Naomi,” he explained, fixing his blazer.

“Then go with Alexander,” he said, throwing a pillow at Logan. The pillow made contact with Logan’s face, causing him to take a step back. “I don’t feel like going out for lunch with a girl you're trying to impress and her friend.”

Logan threw the pillow to the couch. “Come on, Oliver,” he persisted, sounding desperate. “It’s not like you're going to get back together with Naomi—she already said the deadly three words to you.”

Oliver growled, but he didn’t deny it. It was true that he wouldn’t get back with them, but it wasn’t because of that reason, per se. of course, it did added it to, but the fact that they accuse him of things he revolted made him realize that they didn’t mean it when they tell him that they love him. Logan was right, though. The chances that he and Naomi are going to get back together were slim to none.

With a sigh, Oliver started to fix his shirt, admitting defeat to the argument. There wasn’t a reason for him to be depressed about something he couldn’t have prevented.

A smile crept on Logan’s face as he realized that Oliver was going to go with him. “Atta boy,” he said, sounding pleased.

“If you were a girl, I wouldn’t dare to hook up with you,” Oliver joked.

Logan chuckled, punching Oliver lightly in the arms. “’Cause I’ll be too pretty for you?” he asked.

Oliver rolled his eyes. “Right, that’s it,” he replied sarcastically.

Logan snickered. “Anyways, I was still going to get Alex—but don’t think that her friend would like that,” he stated.

“Why?”

“Her friend was the girl calling Alexander this morning,” he replied, remembering the phone calls earlier that morning. Girls were patient but there was extent as to how tolerant they could be. Both Oliver and Logan knew that Alexander had crossed the line, after seven missed calls. “She’d be pissed at him, and my date would be pissed at me.”

Oliver smiled. He was sure that Logan was a romanticist, though he was in denial of it, but never had he seen him to be so into a girl. Sure, he was less of an ass than Alexander, but he never had gone to the extent of caring about a girl’s friend. “You really like this girl enough to remember her friend,” he commented.

A cheeky grin formed on his face. “I think that I'm in love with her,” he admitted, looking down.

Oliver winced from the words. “Just don’t get too clingy,” he advised.

He frowned, giving Oliver a suspicious look. “How would you know?”

“I had the longest relationship here,” he stated a little more proud than he should have had.

Logan huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. “Three months isn’t long,” he retorted.

A smile formed on Oliver’s lips. He found the fact that out of the three of them, his three-month relationship was the longest relationship they’d known of. “One isn’t such a great number, either,” he countered.
