" Oh my god.....pattie?!" I covered my mouth as I tried to keep myself from screaming. The women right in front of me was my childhood best friend. She was basically like my sister.
"Yes it's me." She smiled. I saw tears beamed from her eyes. I couldn't help that a few slipped from my eyes. As soon as she was in arms reach I quickly pulled her into a bone crushing hug. I missed her so much, I hated that her mom forced her to move to New York with her older brother just because she got pregnant at the age 14. Yep I got pregnant after she did, it's was so weird and ironic but I told her and she couldn't wait to have our children grow up with each other and have them as diaper buddies. I would always laugh at her crazy ideas but always agreed to them, I mean duh she was my best friend, but her mom sent her away as soon as Alexis was born and it broke us both apart. But all of that didn't matter now cause here she was back here in San Diego where she grew up and I'm so happy that she is here.
"God I missed you so much. But hey when did you come back San Diego? And why didn't you tell me?" I asked her as I pulled away from the hug. She giggled before responding
"Actually I recently came back, like 2 weeks ago. I couldn't miss Justin's first day of kindergarten now can I?"
I completely forgot about her son Justin, I mean yeah I knew she had her baby but I thought he went to go live with his dad. I guess not.
"Oh my god he goes to this school?"
"Uh yeah duh that's why I'm here aren't I? Are you even paying attention to what I was saying?"
I giggled as I face palmed myself. I look up to her as I smiled.
"Okay, okay I admit that was a stupid question but really how is little Justin and what room number did he get?"
"Um I think room 22?"
"Omg that's the same room as Alexis!" I was happy that our kids were in the same class maybe they might even become friends without us pushing them towards each other.
"That's so good now we won't have to set their play dates or make them become friends they can do it all on their own." Pattie said as she linked her arm with mine like when we're little. I giggled as I playfully bumped my hips with her causing her to laugh. I smiled and said something I thought I would ever say.
"Let's go get some Starbucks Im in really need of some coffee." She looked at me with wide eyes as she smirked.
"Since when did you start drinking coffe? I thought you said that was for old people?" I just playful rolled my eyes as I tug her towards my car.
"Oh shut up. I'm at least paying."
