Felix’s knees hit the cold marble, but the ground shifted beneath him like sand. The hellish screams of Lust’s floor vanished instantly, replaced by a blinding, sterile light.

His body felt tingly and less heavy. The air felt breathy and good in his lungs. His blue hair seemed to shifted and he felt less filthy, as of he has showered between the floor falling out and now.

He squinted, shielding his eyes, and the world twisted around him. The stench of blood and sex was gone. In its place, there was… nothingness. A purity that made his chest ache.

“Where—what is this?” he whispered, spinning in a circle. The dim red walls of Hell had been replaced by endless columns of white marble, glinting as though the sun itself had been trapped inside them.

A shadow detached itself from the light, tall and impossibly graceful. Wings of silver, glinting like frost, stretched behind him. Soft footsteps crawled up behind him. Felix froze, anxiety peaked.

“You are safe now,” a voice said. Smooth, controlled. Terrifyingly calm.

Felix whipped around and stumbled back. “Safe? From what?” His eyes landed on him and he squared up instinctively. “Who the fuck are you?!”

The angel stepped closer, movements eerily fluid, the light reflecting off his pale, unreadable face. “I am Ezikaiah,” he said, voice low, almost a whisper. “I’ve removed you from Hell.”

Felix’s stomach dropped. “Removed me fom Hell?” His voice cracked. “You mean… rescue me? Or kidnap me?”

Ezikaiah tilted his head, as if amused. “Perspective is… flexible.” His voice has a cunning drawn to it. He extended a hand. “You cannot stay there, Felix. The Seven Deadly Sins… they are unraveling. They will destroy you before you even realize it.”

Felix’s fists clenched. “And you just happen to be here to save me? Yeah, right. I don’t buy that.”

“I am not here to negotiate belief,” Ezikaiah said, stepping closer. “I only bring order. You are…" he tilted his head back, his hair looking majestic down his back, "-essential. You must come with me.”

Felix’s heart hammered. His body hadn’t beaten in months, but the fear made it feel like it would explode anyway. Arms dropped away from a fight stance, he stepped closer, “Essential? For what?!”

Ezikaiah’s eyes gleamed almost white. “To prevent Hell from enhancing itself. To prevent the sins from tipping the scales.”

Felix shook his head. “I don’t know what the fuck you're talking about. Is this the prophecy bullshit? I'm not dealing with again.”

Ezikaiah lowered his wings slightly, and the light around him dimmed to a gentle glow. “That is not a choice.”

Felix stared at him, suspicion radiating in every line of his body. “So what, you just grab humans now and drag them into Heaven? Isn’t there… some kind of rule about free will?”

“The prophecy transcends free will,” Ezikaiah said softly, almost regretfully. “And you, Felix… are the key.”

Felix opened his mouth to argue, to resist, to strike out—but the air around him pressed in like a tide, heavy with power he didn’t understand. A surge of energy withdrew the words from his lips and his body robotically eased out its tension.

He realized then that he hadn’t just been moved from Hell. He had been taken. Kidnapped, in the most divine way possible.

And worse—he couldn’t deny it. He might actually need them.

Ezikaiah extended his hand again. “Come. You will understand in time.”

Felix’s gaze flicked to the endless light, the impossibly perfect columns, and the angel before him. His stomach churned with suspicion, but there was… no other path.

He clenched his jaw. “Fine,” he said. “But don’t think for a second that I trust you.”

Ezikaiah’s lips curved into the faintest smile. “I would not expect you to yet." He paused, his eyes landing sharply on him, "I do find it quite... peculiar that your trust lies with the Seven."

"What's that supposed to mean?" He scoffed, "Aren't angels supposed to not judge?"

"You've been around them too long," he gave a pressed grin, his presence feeling like a edgy conman. Yet his face read innocence and truth, "You've been tricked, Felix."

"Tricked?"

The words left his tongue skeptically, as if he didn't believe anything about this. Felix's demeanor remained guarded and annoyed—internally kind of scared. He didn't like how easy the angel spoke.

Ezikaiah's wings fluttered, a sorrowful expression on his face, "They put on masks around you. They're demons after all," A laugh bubbled up in his chest, "The made you see a fake, romanticized version of them. It's in their nature for deceit after all."

That couldn't be true. They were all so...

Not evil.

Charming.

Understanding.

Or maybe Ezikaiah was right.

Fuck no. Felix wasn't stupid. That angel was lying through his teeth. But he wanted to know where the angel was getting at this.

He skillfullu out on face of shock, as if pretending the realization has sunk in, "Lying? No...but—"

"Fear not, that is why I rescued you," Ezikaiah stopped move and paused in front of Felix, his knuckles grazing over Felix's cheekbone, "I will be your savior, just as Father saved us. Just as you will save Hell from taking over. You will be my disciple."

The man slowly pulled his hand from his face, his eyes scanning over his incriminatingly. His long hair flowed in the stagnant air, blowing in the non-existent wind. His wings shifted in excitement, it's feathers shuddering in glee.

Ezikaiah believes he has won. But really, he was stuck.
