Avi's POV

"Let's go to the club tonight!" they said, "It'll be fun!" they said...

I'm pissed...

At myself mostly...

We're in Washington DC for a few says on tour. We had a show tonight and Scott, Mitch, and Kirstie had the idea to celebrate afterwards at a nightclub downtown. Kevin and Esther are down, but I wasn't too sure. Kirstie and I have been dating for a while now, and I hate to admit it but something about her has turned me into a jealous hulk...

"C'mon, Avi!"

"Just go without me,"

"Pleeeeaassee?" she pouted... damn that pout.

Remember, hulk....

Kirstie's POV

Tonight's outing was supposed to be fun, and it started out great... and ended badly.

I don't know what's gotten into Avi... the way he's acting tonight is so unlike him. That concerns me, I hope he's okay. I almost feel like he's angry at me? What did I do?

One silent taxi ride later...

We step out of the cab and silently trudge into the hotel, the rest of the gang was still at the club... having a good time... and we left early.

It's midnight and for some reason the only other person in the lobby is the concierge. Just silence. As we approach the elevator the tension between he and I it THICK! I don't like it...

Avi let's out a heavy sigh as he pushes the up button.

"Is there... something you want to say?" I finally speak up. He only cut his eyes over at me and didn't respond. Ouch! "What the hell is with you tonight?"

"Kirstie, stop." It felt like an order...

"No!" Who does he think I am? "I'm not gonna let this fester, I want to talk about it!" He turned his whole body to look at me, and I suddenly feel like I'm wearing a target...sh*t!

"That guy was all over you, Kirstin"

"It was loud we could barely hear each other!"

"What did he even want?"

"He was a fan! He just wanted to meet me!"

"He didn't recognize me?"

"He was probably terrified! You should have seen yourself Avi, did you even THINK before you walked over to us?" He turned back to the elevator pushing the button over and over again. Damn elevator, what was taking so long? "What's gotten into you lately? This so isn't like you."

"What's gotten into YOU lately?"

"What? I-"

"You just let any guy come up and look at you and talk to you?" he was SO grumpy I hate it!

"Yea I'm friendly, sorry... as I've learned not every guy who speaks to me is trying to get in my pants!"

"Yes, of course they are, you kiddin'?" he snorted... wow... don't cry Kirst... I feel it coming. I've always been self conscious about how guys perceive me like that. I've had so many awful experiences with guys using me or trying to take advantage of me and I somehow started to believe it was my fault. Like something I was doing was somehow inviting that type of abuse. It was the reason I stopped going out for a while. Luckily my amazing sister wives Scott and Mitch gave me a little bit of my confidence back... No thanks to Avi, I feel horrible and guilty again for something I know isn't my fault. When I got quiet, Avi realized I had started tearing up...

"Ugh! Kirst-" he mumbled

"No, forget it. I'm sorry." The doors suddenly opened and I quickly walked in.

"No, Kirstie...uuggghh!!" He followed me in, getting frustrated again.

We're back at square one. He's mad. I'm confused.

I'm yanked out of my thoughts when we hear the most hideous shriek come from elevator shaft. We look up at each other when suddenly the small room started to shake VIOLENTLY. It felt like we were moving down, and fast! Like that ride in Disneyland. Avi quickly rushed to my side pushing me into to corner to stabilize us, holding my body tightly. Finally it stopped. We both stood up straight and assumed our awkward places on opposite sides of the elevator... we're still mad for some reason.

"you ok?"

"yea, you?"

"yea."

Suddenly, the lights flickered and then went out completely. no no No NO NO!!!

I'm afraid of the dark.

I felt around desperate for Avi. I can't handle this!

Avi's POV

"Kirst," I could hear her whimpering, oh god. I know how she hates the dark. I suddenly feel her arms wrap tightly around my waist.

"how do we get out? Avi!"

"Baby, Baby relax okay." I pulled out my phone to put some light in the room "See? You're okay, Kit!" I kissed her forehead, my poor baby girl, I feel so bad... for everything.

"Hello! This is Security is anyone there?"

"Yes! Hello, Hi! We're in here!" I shouted to the emergency phone thing that elevators have. Still not sure how those work but I'm glad it's working now!

"How many people are with you?"

"There's two of us." I replied

"Is anyone injured?"

"No we're fine," Suddenly the lights flickered back on. "Oh the lights are back on!"

"Ok good! We currently have the fire department working on the problem. So sorry for the inconvenience!"

"That's alright,"

"This could take anywhere from 30 min to an hour, so get comfortable folks. Push the red emergency button if you have a problem, I'll be on the other line."

"Ok thank you!" I said, Kirstie slipped out of my arms and sunk down onto the floor. Damn, I gotta fix this now. "Hey, Kirst?" I sat down next to her,

"Yea?" she said looking at her lap,

"I'm sorry Kirstie! I didn't mean what I said earlier."

"It's okay." she said sadly

"You look great tonight baby." I had to chuckle at myself " you look great every night...And that makes me anxious a little... Damn I can't get you out of my head, you drive me crazy. I get jealous." I sighed "I'm sorry for being an embarrassing jerk... I don't like being this guy, this... angry, tense guy. But I just want to be someone YOU want" she turned her head to look at me finally. "Look, all I can say is, I'm so sorry, you're amazing, and you deserve the best." I said. "I love you, Kitty."

"Avi!" She smiled through her tears, "You're an amazing man, and nothing compares to you dude..." she punched my arm. I reached up to wipe her tears. "Please don't ever think anyone could be competition over you, baby." she smiled "Always remember how much I adore you," she crawled on her knee's to get closer to me and sat back on her heels like a kid. She's the cutest person I know. "No one could ever take me away from you, so relax, I want you to enjoy yourself." She whispered. I felt her small hands on my cheeks as she planted a soft kiss on my lips.

"Damn, I love you" She blows me away every day

"I love you more" she replied. We felt a gentle shake as the elevator started to move normally again. We both let out a sigh of relief as it brought us back to the lobby, where we could explain to the repair workers what went wrong. The hotel management was nice enough to upgrade our room. Assuming we were a couple they generously gifted us with a night in the "Honeymoon Suite". She glanced at me with a devilish smirk, I reached down and gave her butt a pinch, earning myself a giggle.

Life with Kirstie, was truly beautiful. Maybe I should apologize more often...
