A few months after our first date, Ben took me out about a week after the premiere of The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). A simple, romantic dinner for two with candles and soft music was relaxing and all around amazing. After the meal, Ben led me outside where we got into the car and drove to a nearby field...

"Ben, what are we doing here?" I asked, looking around the empty field. Suddenly little lights flickered around us, flying upward in a spiraling motion. "Fireflies!" Ben said cheerily, slipping his hand in mine.

"Fireflies?" I asked with a chuckle, raising my eyebrow suspiciously. The long grass rubbed against my ankles as he pulled me along to where the grass was cut and light up by the soft light of the moon.

"No, look." He said, standing behind me now and pointing towards the longer grass where millions of lights flickered like a million cameras on the red carpet. Which I admit, I still hadn't quite grown accustomed to being around. I smiled as I ran and caught one.

Ben "just so happened" to have a mason jar handy, where we put the fireflies we caught. Cars drove past every one in a while, the passengers staring at us like we were lunatics chasing bugs through a field. Which if you put it simply, we positively were.

After the jar was full, and had let go of about twenty, we fell backwards into the grass, side by side.

"Charlotte, can I ask you a personal question?" Ben asked quietly, as we stared up at the diamond speckled sky.

I felt comforted by his presence as we gazed up at the stars. "I suppose." I replied, adjusting my position as I lay beside him in the soft grass.

"Do you have any plans for the future?"

I was taken aback at my lack of thought on the matter. Not once had I thought to what may lie before me the future. Nor did I care, until this particular moment. All I wanted was to stay here my his side, gazing across the stars hand in hand with the man I'd grown so close to, not just as a coworker, but as a dear friend. "I don't know." I said slowly. "Do you?"

Ben was silent for a moment. "At one point I did. All I wanted to expand my acting career and become a greater person in general."

I turned my head towards his and stared as he gazed up at the sky in deep thought. "And what made you change your mind?"

Ben looked over, his face a mere two inches from mine. "You. You've helped me to do both, but I feel as though maybe I want something more."

I felt a blush creep into my cheeks as I stared into his dark eyes. His breath was warm against my cold cheeks. Chills shivered up my spine. Whether they were from the breeze rolling through or the gentle touch of his fingers intertwining in mine, I'd never know.

The spaces between our faces became tighter and tighter as our lips met. First gently with a loving tenderness. He reached over and pulled me closer. Holding me in his warm embrace as our lips pressed together tightly. I no longer felt the breeze nipping at my arms and face as I rolled over on top of him and wrapped my arms around his neck, completely lost in the moment.

I pulled away from his lips reluctantly, but still clung to him. "To honestly answer your question, I want to spend the rest of my life being in love and never grow up." I whispered, our foreheads pressed together.

Ben chuckled softly, brushing my hair back gently with his finger tips, "That sounds lovely."
