Destiny or Fate?

Chapter 4

After changing my clothes and getting ready for the family reunion, I wait for my cousins to arrive.

Jace and Cole are the first ones to arrive. Jace is my dad's sister's son, who everyone considers my identical twin. And Cole is my dad's brother's son, who seems to be adopted but when you meet his dad you instantly know why looks the way he looks like.

"Look Jace, it's little Violet!" Cole grins mischievously, walking towards me with Jace trailing behind him.

"Oh god" i sigh looking at them.

"What do we have here? Young Vi looking all small and fragile" Jace mocks me as he caresses my hair with one hand.

"Get her" Jace tells Cole and in a swift movement I'm lifted off of my feet and Cole runs to the backyard with me on his shoulders.

"Cole! Get me the f.uck down!" I yell at the top of my lungs.

This two mother f.uckers have always bullied me since I'm the youngest of all of us. Not knly have they bullied me, but they have also been extremely protective and caring at the same time. They are like brothers to me so I don't care much about them bothering me.

"Mila! Help me!" I yell as soon as Mila's yellow sun dress appears through the door.

"C'mon Cole let her down!" She orders and just as I got here I'm thrown back down, landing on my back.

"As you wish m'am" Cole laughs along with Jace and Harper.

"Ha-ha. How funny you a.ssholes" I stand up trying to get out all of the grass that's stuck on my clothes.

"Poor Vi, always getting bullied by the annoying cousins" Mila hugs me making a pouty face.

"Okay guys enough!" I try to sound as stern as I  can.

"Okay sorry" Jace hugs me.

"Apology accepted"

"Okay Vi I'm taking a picture of the three of you guys!" Aunt Mara said holding out her phone.

We all pose casually. Cole, Jace then me. And ofcourse my aunt decides to do small countdown before taking the picture.

Right when she says one, Cole's hand crashes with my face taking me aback. Jace is laughing his a.ss off as always, just like Mila, Harper and Cole.

"What the h.ell COLE!" I yell at him and right then and there I jump on his back, slapping his cheeks repeatedly (not hard tho man).

"Get off of me Violet!" He struggles to get me off of him and I scream payback as many times as my breath lasts.

"Okay Okay I give up! I'm sorry! I'm not gonna bully you anymore cuz!" Cole surrenders and I jump off his back laughing at him.

"Omg you're such a baby!" I laugh grabbing my stomach as I throw my head back.

"Shut up Vi!"

"Oh I'm not shutting up! This is revenge mother f.ucker!" I laugh so hard my eyes cry.

"Okay we get it, little Violet has finally grown up to defend herself" Jace says walking towards me.

He engulfs me in a tight hug and I hug him back. Harper and Cole join. Then Mila "aw's" and joins us.

After hours of chilling with the fam, we all decided to have a small bonfire in the backyard whith some guitar playing and singing to make it relaxing.

I went inside to grab my guitar, while Harp took the s'mores ingredients. Once I got to my room I took the guitar and went downstairs as fast as I could. Singing has always been one of the things I love the most, and playing the guitar is also one thing I truly love.

Everyone was ready in their seats. Jace saved us seats and s'more mix as I used to call it when I was younger. I sit next to him and start Cole and I start discussing what song should we sing to the fam.

We end up choosing Autumn Leaves by Ed Sheeran. This is one of my favorite songs and when I sing it, it feels good and it comes with emotion. My dad taught me how to play the guitar, and this was the first song I learned and loved.

Cole and I start strumming our guitars and harmonizing for a bit before actually starting to sing the song.

As we start Mila sends a nostalgic look my way and I sort of try to shake it off. A tear slips down my cheek, but I keep singing.

The song came out more emotional than I thought it would. I hadn't sand that in a while, so of course i felt memories I tried to hide away coming back slowly filling that black hole I tried to make numb through the years.

Jace who was sitting next me hugged me so hard when we finished, that a small squeaky shriek came out of my mouth. We laughed it off and sand a couple of other songs that were suggested by the family.

Out of all the songs we sang from then on I loved a few like Riptide by Vance Joy, Infinity by 1D and Habits of my heart by Jaymes Young. I have a weird music taste to be honest.

It can go from Ed Sheeran to Black Veil Brides, but honestly I think that's Okay! It makes things easier. You'll never worry because you don't like certain type of music, because you enjoy it all (except screamo which scares the living sh.it out of me).

After everyone was gone I went up to my room and sat in the comfy window seat whilst in the dark, just staring at the night sky and listening to the waves crashing on the shore.

I close my eyes and try to recall old memories. Remembering once in a while won't hurt anyone. Right?

Memories of my dad and I flash through my mind. The big trip to the snow, mom and Mila having a small snow fight and dad and I joining..... I wish I could press rewind and go back and fix what caused my life to change....

"You okay sis?" Mila sits in front of me looking at my face. I nod slightly, looking down as I notice my cheeks are wet.

"No, you're not know you can trust me Vi..... I know that look on your face, It's the same look you kept for years on end since you know what. It's still hard for me too, but I know all he wanted was to see us happy" She says hugging me tight.

"I just miss him so much" I sob in her shoulder. "If I had one chance to see him again I'd take it faster than a heartbeat"

"C'mon. Let's get those red eyes and puffy cheeks some good sleep" She says standing up, pulling me along with her.

Since I have my pjs on I just lay in my bed while my cute big sister throws the blanket over me and kissing my forehead softly.
