CATOS POV

"No! Please no!" The district 10 boy screams as I'm about to deliver the death blow "Please! I'm begging you!" He cries

"Survival of the fittest" and I plunge my sword into him

"CATO!" He screams with my mothers voice

I am startled awake and laying in my bed I realize I was dreaming. I even start to laugh.

"Cato! Didn't you hear me yelling! You're already late for school !" My mother comes into my room glaring down at me at my place on my bed. I look over to my alarm clock which I must have forgotten to set and it read 8 o'clock

"Well shit! I guess there's not point in going now!" I said plopping back down into bed.

"Yes there is! Do you want to go to training after school? Then go now!"

I just laughed at her attempt to scare me. I got out if bed once I was standing I was looking down to her almost as far as she was looking down at me when I was laying down. She was well used to my massive form but I could still sense her uncomfortableness standing near me.

"Just get dressed and get to school" she said to me as she left my room. I walked over to my closet and dressed in pants and a tight fitting shirt. All my shirts were tight considering my muscular build. I splashed some cold water on my face and and ran my hand through my blond hair. When I was done I grabbed my training bag from my room and ran downstairs. All my siblings must be at school already because my house seemed especially huge when it was empty. I took a moment to take in the high ceilings and elaborate decorations. My family was rich, considering my father was District 2's head Peackeeper in 5.

I couldn't waste anymore time so I left the house and made my way to school which was nearby. I was late for my first and second class so if I got lucky I could sneak into my 3rd unnoticed.

Being unnoticed wasn't really possible for me

The second I entered the school 2 girls- whose names I can't even remember right now- saw me

"Cato! Why didn't you call me last night?" One said at the exact same time the other said "Cato I had a really good time last night!" They both looked at each other accusingly. I took this opportunity to walk away quickly before they could say anything further. As I walked into my 3rd class I realized I was early and the class before hasn't left yet.

"Ah! Cato Talbot! So nice if you to be early!" Said my Math teacher. I've been on his bad side ever since I started showing up late to his class everyday. "Cato, perhaps you would like to finish this problem on the board. Since you are so dedicated."

I checked out the problem in the board as he handed me the chalk. I had no clue where to start but I figured I could wing it. "Yeah... Ummm.. First you take the uh 3 here and you... Square it.." The class erupted in laughter because it was obviously not what you were supposed to do

"Keep trying Cato! You're so close!" I recognized the voice of one of my close friends, Apollo. I smiled arrogantly at the class. I was used to being the center of attention, and now I was determined to give them a good show.

"Now! You take this number and divide it by pie!" I demonstrated

"Atta boy!" Encouraged Apollo sarcastically. I didn't know if he was just joking or if he actually thought I knew how to do this problem.

"That's enough Cato" said the teacher, clearly disappointed that he failed to embarrass me. "Does anyone care to actually do this problem?" He asked.

A pale arm shot up in the air and everyone turned to look at who it was. The girl who raised her hand seemed significantly smaller than everyone els. I know I had never seen this girl before because if I did I would have remembered. The girl was tiny she couldn't be over 5'5 and with a small slender form. Someone i could kill easily with a snap of the neck. Her long shiny hair was almost half as long as she was. She was pretty white especially with her dark hair framing her face. Her dark brown eyes and full pink lips stood out from her pale face. As she made her way towards the front of the class everyone turned to stare at her. I found myself looking down on her as she walked up to me with her hand out expectingly for the chalk. I handed it to her with a smirk- let her attempt the problem. She must be a year younger since I had never seen her before, so she must be smart if she's in the same math class as Apollo, and upperclassman. To my surprise the girl did the problem without hesitation and turned to face the teacher.

"Thank you Clove." Said the teacher

The edges of her dark pink lips curved up in a smile. She looked just like those little porcelain dolls. All white, perfect, breakable-

"Unlike him" she gestured to me. "I have looks AND a brain." Her voices matched her appearance. High and whimsical. Like a baby. A baby I could smother for being so bold.

The class erupted in laughter. The girl- Clove turned to smiled a sickly sweet looking smile at me and turned to walk back to her seat with all eyes glued to her.

Well... She admitted that I have looks.
