After the usual routine of poking your head out of the water you realized something. "Is that the Empire State Building?" You questioned and Gray raised an eyebrow, "I think it is."
Your mind flashed back to the story he came from.
He'd watch out for Doe and that meant keeping an eye on her. For a short period in her life she lived in New York City. Now Gray may not know everything about us humans or understand us but if he wanted to he could blend in pretty darn well if he wanted to. That and if anyone tried to mug him he could beat them with both hands tied behind his back.
"(Y/n), what are you thinking about?" He asked and you stared at him, confused. He just shook his head an began to swim but not before saying, "I know you pretty well."
Finally after getting to shore you looked at the murky river and wrinkled your nose. "Ew."
Gray laughed and shook his head and a voice behind you two said in a skeptical voice, "You guys don't look like you're from around here."You turned around to in none other than your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man hanging upside down at you.
"Oh hey Peter." You said nonchalantly, turning back to Gray.
"How-Huh?" Peter Parker aka Spider-Man asked you swinging over to you. And you sighed.
Will I really have to explain this whole mess to every character I come across? You thought to yourself in an exasperated tone.
And so you went on to explains very shortened version of what happened."Wait...so you know everything? Like my identity," obviously, "and the villains and all that jazz?" Ha asked and you rubbed your temples. "Yes-" A different voice behind you laughed and if you could hit your head against a wall you would.
Loki, god of mischief, stood behind you grinning and Gray stepped in front of you protectively.
I can't let her get hurt. He thought and you resisted the urge to say how sweet that was.
Suddenly you felt a tingly sensation from the water an you grinned. Loki, oblivious to all of this was staring at you like you were made of gold. "They told me you'd be here. and if I kill the both of you he promised I'd be ruler of this universe!" He told us and Gray frowned at him. "So you know?" "I course I do you dull creature I'm a god." He scowled at Gray and Gray laughed. He pulled out his twin blades, his hands, and eyes glowing gold. "Dull creature? Well O God of mischief, you'll have to deal with a fairy, a practically God and a guy in a suit." ("Hey, I'm right here!" Spider-Man interjected)
Now most people wouldn't think thy sounded like a very good threat but Loki's smile faded.
Then he snapped his fingers and two Frost Giants appeared. Plus a ton of his clones.
"Dammit." Gray muttered, "Stay behind me (y/n)." He then added glancing back at me. You shook your head. "Weren't you the one who called me a practical God?" "I was trying to sound threatening!" He nearly hissed and you laughed. Then you stepped out from behind him and concentrated. Almost instantaneously my hand glowed with white hot fire. "Oh, this is going to be fun." You said grinning at the Frost Giants. Not to sound cocky or anything but they didn't stand a chance against you. Then they lumbered over raising their icy clubs at you an you easily dodged it, running out from beneath it.
The shore, as you may have forgotten to mention before was a low to the water concrete wall. Which was now cracked due to the Frost Giants trying to smash you with their clubs. Gray was doing a dangerous dance with the Loki clones, since you wee preoccupied with not dying it was hard to get a good look at him. Spidey was going in between the both of you, helping out which ever one was in the need of it the most.
