Aria's POV
Spencer and I go to school together, and turn up about half an hour before lessons actually start, I could never keep up with the Hasting's efficiency every day like she does. I can see she's already looking out for someone to give me my phone so I just try to change the subject. We sit on a bench outside and Spencer gets out on her text books just to 'familiarise' herself and 'freshen' her memory. As much as I love Spencer I can't handle how much work she's doing so early in the morning right now, so I borrowed Spencer's phone to text Hanna asking her to come to school as soon as she can.
When I see Hanna arrive she sits with us and I see her about to ask why I needed her but she stopped as soon as she saw Spencer, we all laugh about it for a bit and then everyone starts turning up so it doesn't feel like we're at school so earlier anymore. I'm actually starting to miss my own phone but I only have to wait until third period and I'll have it back at the end.

English has finally come and I'm so excited to see him again. He's running late so that gives me time just to think about how perfect last night was, and the whole new side of Ezra, romantic and carefree. Ezra walks in and unpacks his little briefcase and smiles. After writing everything on the board he has the classes attention, waiting for something to do.
"Oh Aria, before I forget, you left your phone in English yesterday." He says as he pulls my phone from his pocket. I look straight to Spencer who is staring at me with the most shocked face I've ever seen her pull. I can't look at her for much longer for two reasons, firstly I just don't know what to say or how to look at her, and also Ezra can not know about Spencer knowing, it will totally make him even more scared and he'll never trust me. I smile and play along getting my phone back, but now I know the second she gets a chance I'm going to have to explain everything to her.
The whole of my English lesson I try to think of reasons Ezra could have my phone but there's nothing that fully explains all this, and I have 3 minutes until the end of class. Even Hanna's starting looking at me weird and I have no idea what that's about, I'm just going to have to face this, but Hanna can't find out about Ezra, she tells Mona everything.
The end of class has come and Spencer pulls me into the girls toilets locking it so nobody can get in, so it's just the three of us as Hanna closely followed. I can see Spencer holding back not saying anything as there's no way Hanna could have any idea what's going on.
"I don't know what the whole rush, and locking the toilets is all about, but Aria I swear you had your phone at lunch yesterday and didn't leave in FItz's class?" Hannah says looking confused.
"Oh yeah, after school I went back to him for some help on the essay he set. I must've left it then." I lie.
"Hanna, can I speak to Aria alone for a minute?" Spencer says as she's already pushing Hanna out, and locking the door behind her. This is it, I'm busted.
"You were at Mr Fitz's last night? He's the guy you really like? And you can't tell anyone because it's illegal?!"
"Spence, I met him before school, before he was my teacher." I try to explain but she doesn't look impressed at all.
"Do you know how dangerous this is?"
"Yes, I do, and we weren't going to do anything about it that's why I was going to transfer out of his class so I didn't have to face him."
"If this was anyone else Aria I would be so against it, but because it's you and you're my best friend I'll support you, even though I think you're an idiot." I can't help feeling relieved, so relieved. I hug her and I can tell she's slightly amused by it all, but it's going to take a while before I can laugh about this.
Ezra's POV
Just as I sit in my class ready for lunch when Aria storms in and stops at the door way. I look up waiting to make sense of it, and she takes a few breaths. Then she walks in further and sits with me with no explanation.
"What was the storm in all about?" I ask.
"Nothing, I thought I was mad but I don't think I am now." What is she even talking about, I'll talk to her about it later when we're not at school, she sits at one of the desks at the front and gets her English book out, probably to look like we're doing extra work if anyone walks past.
Aria's POV
I went to have a go at Ezra but I get how it was an honest mistake and he can't know that Spencer knows about us and also he looked so innocent when I walked in all my anger just went away anyway. I'm sure he'll want to talk about it again at some other time but until then I'm just going to enjoy any time I have with him. A few teachers walk past and wave, I guess it seems weird he doesn't sit with them with at lunches in the staff room. The more I think about it the more secretive we need to be, this is getting really obvious and I don't think it's registered until now just how serious it will be if we get caught, I could get expelled and Ezra can get arrested. I have to go.
