Mum's New Job

Ezra's POV

I arrive to work and see a note on my desk telling me to meet the staff in the staff room as soon as I arrive. My initial reaction is panic, do they know about me and Aria? I make my way to the staff room as quick as possible, and see all the teachers and employees hanging around drinking coffee and I'm greeted by the principal. 

"Ezra, we have a new teacher starting today, we'd like everyone to meet her, she should be here in a minute."

Hearing that has taken a weigh off of my shoulders, I really thought something was up. I should probably make more of an effort to get to know the teachers here and spend some time with them as looking around I barely recognise anyone. The door to the staff room opens and a woman walks in with mid-length brown hair, the same colour as Aria's and big eyes, she reminds me of Aria a lot actually. The principal sticks out his hand for the lady to shake it and she does. 

"Everybody, this is Ella, Ella Montgomery." Crap. Is that Aria's mother? If it is we're going to have to be even more careful, and I'm going to have to work with her. This could end up terrible. I'm the first to stand forward and introduce myself, and I take it as an opportunity to find out how she's related to Aria. 

"I'm Ezra Fitz, are you related to Aria Montgomery? I teach her English."

"Hi Ezra, and yes she's my daughter. She doesn't stop talking about you, although she failed to mention how young you are! From what I hear you're an amazing teacher, pleasure to meet you." She says and I can't stop the smile that finds itself on my face. Not only does Aria talk about me to her family, I've already got her mothers approval as a teacher, this could work out as a benefit if we do it right. If I let Ella know that I'm a good person, and prove to her that I'm a worthy boyfriend, maybe one day when we tell her I'm her daughter's boyfriend it won't be such a hard blow. I begin to wonder if Aria knows about this, as she came to school on her own from my apartment today so she wouldn't have seen her mum leave. I excuse myself from the staff room and make my way to Aria's locker where I know the girls meet. I see her standing there with Spencer and Emily, and walk towards them.

"Miss Montgomery, can I talk to you for a second?"

She looks at me confused and says bye to her friends, Spencer's giving her a weird look but for all I know it could be about anything. Aria follows me into the classroom and I sit at my desk. 

"So, your mother works here now..." I say, looking up at her. Her face has completely dropped and she looks horrified. After running her hands through her hair multiple times she sits down and puts her face in her hands. 

"What?" She says under her breath and I begin to explain my morning, and tell her that it's even harder for us to see each other now. I know we'll make it work, but the sooner one of us is out of here the better. The bell rings and I can see she's still frustrated as she says bye and leaves. 

Aria's POV

My mum can not work here, I'm so mad she didn't tell me. Mike and I deserve to know when our own mum's going to be working at our school. She doesn't even know she's just met my boyfriend and complimented how young he is. I guess in some respects Ezra's right, if my mum sees how young and responsible Ezra really is she might not be so shocked when I eventually tell her about us. I have to find Spencer as she is the only person I can talk to about this now, I see her just leaving the girls, still at my locker and run over to her. She can probably see the worry in my eyes as the first thing she does is hug me and ask me if I'm okay. The other girls have left now and the hallway is emptying as lesson's started.

"My mum works here now! And she's met Ezra!" I say still in a rush to let her know. Spencer looks shocked and looks into Ezra's class room. 

"This is awful, what are you going to do?" She says.

"I don't know, this is going to be really hard for us." Spencer hugs me again because she can tell what I'm thinking, as much as I don't even want to think about it, this could be too hard for me and Ezra, we were finding it pretty hard as it is. We may have to stop seeing each other, which I can imagine happening now. I need to see my mum.

Once I've found my mum I pull her to one side and wait for her to start explaining and she has a huge smile on her face. I guess if Ezra wasn't here this wouldn't have been such a bad surprise so I need to start changing the way I'm acting. 

"I was going to tell you this morning but you stayed out!" She says still smiling, "and you never told me how hot Mr Fitz was." She adds winking, oh dear lord. This couldn't get any weirder, my mum finds my boyfriend hot. I look up at the clock and realise I'm already 10 minutes late to class, I say goodbye to my mum and quickly run to the toilet to splash some cold water on my face. If this is a dream now will be the perfect time to wake up.
