LUKE'S P.O.V

It had gotten to 2am. Still no sign of her. I'd been calling.. And calling before I saw her now smashed phone in the front yard.

Now there was a hole in the wall.

I sat down, almost trembling from worry, the boys had fallen asleep, telling me to 'chill.' That it would be 'fine.'

No. Something was wrong. I knew it.

I sprinted outside into the pouring rain, and grabbed Kate's phone from the lawn.

It was soaked to the bone.
I wiped it with the bottom of my shirt as I ran back inside.

I pulled out a bowl and filled it with rice, shoving the phone in it before sitting back down on the couch.

How the hell was I meant to sing tonight with this on my mind?

"Luke..." A voice murmured, making me jump.

I looked up to see Ashton standing behind the couch.
"You need to sleep."
I shook my head.
"I couldn't. Even if I tried."
"Just wait it out man.. I'm sure she'll give you an explanation."
"You saw her Ashton! That wasn't Kate! That isn't the girl I know!"
"No Luke, that isn't the part of her you've seen.. Remember why you initially met, she kidnapped us. She's an agent, who knows what she's seen."

I frowned.
Ashton was right. Kate never talked about her past. She'd always avoid the subject when I talked about it.. So I never bothered to push.

"Just.. Try to sleep."

Ashton's P.O.V

We walked out onto the stage, readying our positions while the lights were dimmed.

As usual, the atmosphere was high.

I glanced at Luke, he got his head pieces ready before looking at everyone and beginning our intro.

The crowd picked up as my stick hit the drum, cheering out.

We played through our lead off, my eyes watching Luke.
He almost stayed stationary, barely moving at all, his enthusiasm gone.

Introducing songs.. He struggled.
Long way home, he struggled.
Amnesia.. I don't even know how he got through it, by the end of the song his hands were gripping the guitar, shaking vigorously.

The crowd knew something was wrong, because they just listened.. Not even one cheering.

"She sleeps.. Alone..
My heart wants to come home...
I wish I was... I wish I was..."

That was it. He couldn't take anymore.

Luke fell to his knees, breaking down into tears, trembling and shaking.

I sprinted over as Michael and Calum lowered their guitars, grabbing Luke and holding him up.

His head collapsed onto my shoulder as he began to scream and sob as he leant his shaking body on mine for support.

I walked him off as fast as his dying spirit could manage.

He screamed as we entered his dressing room, grabbing his guitar and throwing it into the wall, before attempting to give in and collapse again.

I held him up and sat him on the chair.

I couldn't say anything, I just rubbed his back as soothingly as I could.

Whatever I said wouldn't be good enough.

Broken didn't explain it.

Luke was truly shattered into millions of pieces.
