I'll steel myself for a thousand fights.
I'll starve to make sure you go to bed with a smile,
I'll be the one on your side when you walk down the aisle.
I'll protect you, my angel, till I'm gone for the dead,
And with the gentlest touch he kissed my head.
Who was this man, I wondered. 'Are you a hero? Do you ride a sled?'
'I am no hero, I wear no cape of red,
You can call me Daddy', with the sweetest smile he said.
What are we without our Fathers? He's our foundation, our pillar, our roof. Everything.
